Hi to Proton bro's

My daughter intended to buy a car and after discussing we have narrow down to these 3 models base on price/practicality concern. And we think these are truly Malaysian car.

I would like a comment on the individual car without any comparison between the 3 or any other model available. Put the budget aside.

Pls assist to provide the following.

1. Level of confort being in the car as driver and passenger
2. Fuel consumption. e.g Distance per full tank / distance per liter / liter per 100km
3. Engine respond / mechanical - smoothness, part that give way earlier than expected
4. Comment on this campro with IAFM and CPS
5. Road handling / safety
6. Maintenance - incl of common problem like IAFM/aircond/gear box etc during warranty period
7. Town and expressway drive experience
8. The best service center you have experience ( klang valley only)
9. Ease of making a warranty claim if any
10. Built quality
11. QC during delivery
12. Since my daughter is a journalist and travel a lot, your opinion if the car is to be used beyond 5 year period.

Anyone who have driven all 3 model long enough to tell your experience, we appreciated to have your comment although we would like a comment each car by itself.

We have not driven any of the above model and and no preference made yet as we would like to read your opinion / comment as this will help us on what to look for during test drive.

The only experience have on proton is the old model on all saga's, wira, waja, perdana but not the savvy or juara.

Hope someone or many of you can assist and feel free to add on area not mention above.

Thanks all in advance.

Just go with Saga Highline (one with abs airbag for safety of ur children). I believe it is cheapest among the three and plus you can modify it to look like lancer, impreza or anything you like.

lol.... is for her daugther car ler.... no need to mod like ah beng monster ler... some more she need to travel a lot, saga will be a bit float for highway cruise(I mean for speed deamon like me...).

my opinion, just get persona or gen2 cps, if got budget then wait for walan (waja replacement model - lancer rebadge)
for persona n saga issue, only afraid its iafm module failure issue. another famous persona issue is it's petrol fuel cap, I saw a lot persona with broken fuel cap liao.

for gen2 cps, so far my colleague no complaint on that... so far so good.

If u ask me comfortable, sedan is better than hatchback.

based on my experience & observation along with opinion from friends, family and random people i meet. if you want something valuable & satisfying from Proton. its all come down to their highline product.

again, budget dictates what model do you want to purchase and how many $$ & years do you want to pay for it.

Persona is the best.
If u go for Gen2 CPS,i think the CPS system will go to waste.
U can count with single hand how many times its activated.....

BLM is good if she drives alone.
Town driving can reach 320km while highway run will easily reach 370km.
Mine is auto and has air injector installed(go to car mods forum for details)
IAFM problem is solved already.
Newer batch are not affected but then again this is a P1,so u never know.

There r no need to worry about built quality as newer p1 (0 onwards are well built)

bro mp420,

she prefer P1 due to practicality. sooner or later one need to upgrade to a bigger car all round (c.c, boot etc) and for other occassion she can use my 206. and FORTE is also in her mind........

Why BLM FC is quite bad less than 400Km per tankfull. what is the tank capacity ya....

many thank bro who have responded. still, i need more info keep posting ya.

When the light start to blink,i can fill up to RM55 worth of fuel.
Thats about 27l of fuel, old price.
If she wont use the car forever, then u can opt for 2nd hand unit.
Lots of Myvi out there.BLM oso hav high number of 2nd hand unit.
Did your daughter consider swift?

Mp420,
If thats the speed calculation i dont think 100km per full tank is possible.
My 370km figure is aggressive driving figure.

full tank to light blink only 27L....is the tank that small. I heard it suppose to carry 40L and that means there are 13L of reserved when the light start to blink.

Myvi or any P2 not in the list. Swift was once in the list but due to practicality it fall back behind P1 and forte. 2nd hand unit also is not an option yet as we feel that no matter what a use unit had been abuse a little by any of the previous user.

We may wait for next year persona as the will be better engine install to it. ( an upgrade campro)

ain..if she really wants P1..then go ahead with Gen2 CPS...quite sporty....and choose H-line for airbags and leather seats.....

other than that...she might re-consider forte..... smile_blush.gif

if not..then just let her hitch-hike with me oso can.... smile_big.gif 059.gif

*one more thing..even persona have bigger boot....but gen2 have bigger flexible boot...where u can fit bigger items since the bonnet lift along with rear frame (like satria/206/wira aeroback etc)...so in emergency situation....it might worth....
