hii guys...

sumthg to share..this is taken from 'Citroen technical training-PRESENTATION OF THE AL4
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION'

AUTO-DIAGNOSTIC
I - FAULT WARNINGS
The appearance of certain faults in the system causes the SPORT and SNOW warning lights to flash.
The sport and snow warning lights flash in the following cases:
• when the transmission oil is too hot (extinguish when oil has cooled),
• when the transmission oil is old (oil counter value at calibrated maximum value),
• when there is a break in the serial link between the transmission ECU and the control panel.

The "SPORT" and "SNOW" warning lights flash if there is a fault on the following components or information:
• transmission ECU,
• ECU supply,
• oil pressure sensor,
• supply to sequence electrovalves (EVS1 to EV6),
• regulation fault in main hydraulic pressure,
• multifunction switch,
• sequence electrovalves (EVS1 to EV6),
• main pressure modulating electrovalve (pressure EVM),
• converter lock-up modulating electrovalve (lock-up EVM),
• oil flow electrovalve in heat exchanger,
• main hydraulic pressure electrovalve,
• accelerator pedal not programmed,
• input speed and output speed,
• input speed and engine speed,
• output speed and engine speed,
• engine speed information,
• pedal position,
• supply to analogue sensors.

Thanx for reading 1237.gif

Hi guys! wow this is a very long thread about the AL4 giving flashing lights and problems.

Well, I've dismantled my AL4 hydraulic valve block and put it back together. Read it here: http://my206xr.blogs...alve-block.html

What I can tell you is that:

1. Don't ever drive the 206 into deep water, especially in heavy rain, else you'll end up with water in the gear box.
2. Change the ATF, like every few thousand km. This is Malaysia and the hot weather is bad for the ATF.
3. Use only GENUINE PEUGEOT ATF (ESSO ATF 4HP20 AL4).

It seems a lot of ppl here like to cut and paste information from the internet and post it here as fact. Please please share personal factual experiences instead, which is more useful.

my 4months old peugeot 308 have been stranded at service center for weeks due to gearbox humming sound when driven at 60kph. They admited there was sound but eventually returned claiming it was NORMAL after consulting their regional HQ. Speechless. Anyone could help?

Hi guys,

Just want to check with you guys..............I did an overhaul to my engine and obviously they removed the gearbox. When the removed the gearbox, will there be any ATF dripped? BTW, they did not do any services to the gearbox.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Wow what a long thread!

Well my AL4 box is dying too... There's this buzzing sound coming from the gearbox for months now, and it sure sounds like the solenoid valves. Few days ago, the lockup valve died twice on two different days.

How do I know it was the lockup valve? Well, when it died, the buzzing disappeared, but gears still changed from 1 to 2 and 3 only without torque coverter lockup when 2nd gear is engaged. So my second gear was spinning high rpm before going into 3rd. The snow/sport lamps didn't flash though, which is weird.

Anyway restarting the car gets the gearbox to normal operating condition but with the buzzing solenoid alive again. I hope it stays alive until I receive a new pair of Borg Warner solenoids, whic I plan to install and then update the ECU.

hello, i plan to change oil transmission DIY, include open the body valve, so that the old oil can go out too.
My question: when i done cleaning the body valve, is it necessary to setting the multifunction switch again?

Btw im from indonesia, nice to know you all. smile_wink.gif
Thank you

sorry my English is sucked.

Your AL4 should try ASH ATF oil.

的AT(AL4)。

純正ATF(E××O的LT-7×××1)的話,在台灣跟日本這種嚴苛的道路環境是不夠格的
