Hi to All INNOVA Sifu and Owner,

Currently I drive an Altis 1.8G and am looking for a Japanese MPV below RM150K.

I went for a test drive on an INNOVA 2.0G ( Bxx9922 at Jalan 19/1 Section 19 ) and a Nissan Serena 2.0 Highway Star ( Jln Kemajuan Section 13 this afternoon. Since both showrooms are not too far away, and I like Toyota , so I test drove the Innova first , and then went straight to the Nissan showroom for the Serena. Both MVPs were tested on the same route from Jln Data Abu Bakar to Mont Kiara and made an U-turn back to the showrooms. I was very disappointed with the INNOVA 2.0G . I find Serena is a lot more comfortable to drive with a much quieter engine and better acceleration; third row seat is less bumpy ( my wife was at third row when I drove to Mont Kaira , and we swapped on our way back to showrooms)

INNOVA 2.0G costs about RM108 which is about RM30K cheaper than the Serena 2.0 Highway Star’s RM137K. ( or about RM20K cheaper if compared with Serena 2.0 Comfort ) . For the same price of RM137K , I could only get a recon 2003 or 2004 Estima Aeras. I prefer new and a 2009 Estima is above my budget sad.gif , so I acn only compare INNOVA and Serena smile.gif

Would you mind to share your experience with the INNOVA ?
Has any INNOVA owner ever test drove or considered a Serena ?
What make you decided to buy INNOVA?

Just wondering why there are so many INNOVA on the roads and what’s wrong with the Serena as I hardly see any 689.gif

Thanks in advance for your reply…. biggrin.gif

I was very disappointed with the INNOVA 2.0G
With this comment alone, what else choices do u hv in between Innova & Serena ? Tak kan u r going to pay >100k for an MPV u feel very disappointed with right ? smile_blackeye.gif
Nothing wrong with d Innova, just that u r comparing it with a 30% more pricey competitor. Set ur expectation right bro.

Yeong's comment is fair. The price difference shows the difference.

While some buy Innova because it is a Toyota, others feel it fulfil their requirement for that price.

I'm in the market for a value-for-money MPV, and the Innova is at the top on my list. But the current model seems quite old already. Anyone know when the new replacement model will come in?

I own an Innova '07. I must say it was the best choice at the time when I purchased the MPV. Overall no complain, except that it is struggling claiming up to Genting Highland and the ride is a bit bumpy.

If I were to purchase a MPV right now, I guess the best choice shall be Hyundai Starex Royale, which is much more powerful and bigger in size compared to Innova.
