guys, please drive safely always, you can go fast ocassionally but make sure you are 100% alert and focus
i am not trying to boast how fast forte can go but rather sharing with other vios, city and myvi young-blood owners not to always like to challenge with forte when you see one on the road...coz you will never know which one is the 2.0L with 156hp, the rear is badged 'SX' same like the 1.6...nofear bro can testify its performance smile_cool.gif

Yes,I like this.good one ! " got all what i want." that should be the way to go for car buyers. when u look to many things... fc, brand lar.. etc.. u never walk out from the well and change.

bro, what eventually happen to me last time, i really dont even look at korean cars, dont even bother, my choice at that time was 1.8 altis (1st model), Merc C200 kompressor,Merc E 200 kompressor (not a new one ok!)BMW E46,civic 1.8 and slphy.my wife is driving a 03 camry so its totaly no no for me.so having to say that, i thought to myself, aiya feel tu lan already with this overprice car.they are bored, just like pasar malam selayang, they are sempit bla bla......

one day i just went to the kia showroom in Ipoh, i just test drive forte, feel amaze, try to call bro darrenltian he did't pick up, sms him, he reply me with so much "Poison". smile_tongue.gif.this time i make a right choice buying a car.my humble advice as a small potato, buy whatever car u feels suited your needs, your budjet, and the car u really really like.do not buy because they are popular, they are got an expensive brand/logo at the back and never let people say u are doing bad choice bla bla because there is no bad or good deisison when buying cars!.i rest my case! smile_thumbup.gif

a new hope...

Hyundai and kia need time to change those unker n aunty mindset.... smile_approve.gif smile_approve.gif

Local mindset of unker auntie follow Singaland unker auntie. In Singaland information is more transparent and unker auntie there can view better even with poor eyesight. Resale value is good if that car have many buyers and when selling it, there are people wanted it. When there is demand for both new and 2nd hand, there is resale value.

Not all T, H and N have good resale value. If 1 of the T, H & N used model is not demanding at all, no 1 will buy if put high price. The fuel guzzling Unser, to have same fate with Unser soon Innova, the underpowered over-rev Rush, the weird looking Latio, the overprice Jazz & Greed might not fetch good value in future. Unser value is still high not because of demand but used car dealers whose mindset think that it's Toyota so people will buy if put high price. Unser is like van, no more demand. Innova is too fuel thirsty, to lose demand in future if Toyota comes up with new affordable MPV that has unibody chasis and looks.

Forte's resale value will be better as the whole world already saying it's good. Selling it 2nd hand still have high demand by those who could not afford new.

The new THeta II 1998cc dual CVVT engine is impressive. If Forte 2.0SX is using that engine + 6 speed auto, it will tapau most cars on the road. Power 166hp/6200rpm and torque 197Nm/4600rpm. Wah!!

The whole world might be saying that the Forte is good, but that's not what the used car dealers says. Just because it's a KIA.

I'm totally agree. now a days, hyundai/kia did very well, not like last time, old spectra/atos/accent/elantra/sonata they really underpower and high fuel consumption, now, I own a hyundai Getz 1.4, really good overall, i would say even better than myvi as the interest rate is much more lower, 2.8% compare to 4.3%. For Forte, I really impress on its value of money. I would have bought this car If I didn't get my Suzuki SX4 sedan. Even my new suzuki also people say no resale value, but for me, I get a CBU 1.6 suzuki sedan with only 77k, I really satisfy with its performance. Its only my two sens.

it will change with in 2,3 year i guest, last time i still remember during the 70's the used car dealer say japanese cars are hard to sell because they maid from milo tin, conti car are famous for Bad FC...

anyhow i am really delighted if somebody from the used car dealer or from the bank can atlest give it a clue what is the current market price for the Forte EX and SX 1.6

a new hope...

Dear all Forte owners,

I find this solution good. When you wanted to sell your Forte in future say 3 years later, if :

1) You trade in with used car dealer, they will say your car resale value bad and give very low trade in. If you accept, it will give you bad impression that Forte resale value low and you will get angry then spread news that Forte poor resale value.

2) If used car panel offer too low trade-in, just post on newspaper, Mudah.com.my, autoworld, Motor Trader, etc and sell yourself. Forte is impressive and many youngsters who are still in college or just started work and those who wanted to save money prefer to buy used Forte.

Verdict, used car dealers will be responsible for bringing down Forte's resale value in future because their mentality is fixed at T, H & N resale value only good. Other brands even the good one will take in very low like 10k drop ever year. Since their target is to earn extra 10k, when they take in your used Forte at low price say RM30k, their selling price will not be at RM40k. Their action caused chain reaction to Forte's resale value affecting public perception.

Now take this example,
A guy who just started work with earning RM1500-2000 per month has budget of RM60k needed a car, will he go for used City or used Forte both same year model if both cost 60k at that time? At that time, the whole world including Singaland said that Forte is practical, reliable and durable. His chance of going for Forte will be high cause newer generation are IT savvy and will check internet for info. So if more demand for Forte, will the Forte owners purposely bring down their selling price? No.
