Malaysian mentality on Kia or Hyundai is 1) High fuel consumption 2) Low resale value.

Even though they have push start, high tech engine, full spec,.... to them, it's still a Kia/Hyundai, with the above mentality.

Every new colleague which I mention "hey!, I might get a Forte or a Rondo". Their 1st answer is "you sure or not?, high FC and low resale wor". Some are even current korean car owners. I am tired of telling them the winds have changed since the Picanto era!

Therefore, SD and Naza, you have to put your price low to attract the masses. Build a new customer base and in a few years time (with good reliability) to prove the worth of these cars. Currently, the global Kia and Hyundai's 1st marketing strategy is 'design' to build attraction.

Yes I agree with you. Malaysin people concept still in "T" and "H".

the new avante design is awesome smile_thumbup.gif
but GDI most likely will not make it to our shore due to the high sulphur content in our petrol which is prone clogging up the injectors smile_disapprove.gif

Bro, this might not be the interior because:-

1) it's supposed to be a 6 speeder. The gears looks like it's just 4 speeds.
2) There's supposed to be a TFT LCD display somewhere in the gauge cluster. The tiny display in the pics above look more like for the radio

Hahahahaha...... Informer, you posted that interior earlier under Verna and yet you could still made mistake thinking that it's Avante. Hyundai spokesperson already mentioned that they wanted to keep its interior top secret not until it is officially close to launching at showroom. That is why the sneak launched models had the windows heavily tinted to prevent any1 from seeing what is inside.

Whenever locals said Hyundai and Kia have high FC without even driving 1 of the new batch with Theta or Gamma engine, why not challenge them to pour in only 2 litres in the empty tank and see who will run out of fuel first. They are taking the older version to compare with T, H & N which is not fair. I heard 'N' is organizing lightfoot contest again. Sure it'll be another gimmick by using 'CLAIMED' car owners to show how good the FC is and the result was unexpectedly high comparable to hybrid.

I have conducted test on colleague's Sylphy on industrial complex driveways. Even without traffic, it could never reached the claimed over 20km/L by crawling until running out of fuel after pumping in just 2L of fuel in tank. The contestants last year were driving on highways with traffic some more, so how did they achieve over 20km/L in their Sylphy, Latio and Grand Livina with 2 passengers + full tank? Is it fake or trick?

All of you who appreciate the New Avente 2011 version should give bro informa a pad on this back, dun ya think?

Personally, it has a wonderous appeal...ahem like watching Scarlet Johannson in "Iron Man-2" movies. She is damn cun from start to the end. Tot Jessica Alba was one of its kind species but...Wow Scarlet was awesome. Okay, back to the Avante 2011.

Got to give Hyundai a standing ovasion. Their designers were top notch! Well, it has starting to make other famous Japanese makers look 'elementary' cum 'nursery' level! The Japaneses were sleeping or what???

Like I said before some two years back...the Japanese has let grasses grow under its feet. Looks like now it begining to outgrown the Japs. THE JAPANESE BETTER BEWARE!

Great looking beast...welcome the Avante 2011.

Thanks Bro...
The Japs were not sleeping...

During the earlier years of Automobile development, the Japs copy-cat most of the designs from the Americans, Europeans, and perfected them...
Then, the Korean did the same too now...

The Japs then can't penetrate the said Western car markets, so LEXUS, INFINITI, NISMO, ACURA etc. brand was created...
Now, the Korean did the same on the Genesis...

On "car handling", the Koreans just need to buck-up more...
If they were to invest more on Motor Racing (eg. Accent on World Rally) like Honda, Toyota did (eg. in F1), the technology learned will then be transferred to the common user cars on the road...

The Western's car specs have loads of safety features because it's a standard for foreign cars to be sold there...
In my sense, upon buying any car, safety should come first...
Any Kancil can do 150km/h on a straight road, but can it sustain the bumpy ride and undulating roads of our so called good highway with confidence?
Re-quote from previous post... "Good things are not cheap, and cheap things are not good"... smile_big.gif
Just my 2 cents...
