if you heavy footed then that is the price you have to pay especially changing from 2nd to 3rd..... for lighter foot and with with the correct GB setting... gear will change between 2.5-3K...... and smooth all the way.... further 206 insulation is not that good.... we have to live with it.....

what you can do is... sound proof you car.... go and see danny at KL auto in Damai complex if you are in KL
and .......... put on ear plug....sure senyap........hahahahha....just joking bro...

what is the normal RPM that triggers the gear change, from 2 to 3rd gear?
some said 3.3k rpm, some said 2.5~3k rpm.
it might be linked to how hard you press the pedal, but the high rpm gear change is kinda annoying.
if i recall correctly, i read the 206 history, some old timers said the high rpm gear change is a norm....

Hi bro,

For me i installed my self and i spend about RM150 for the sound proof mat, RM75 for the sound proof foil and RM8 for the glue. but i still dont know how to open up the root top for sound proof installation.

hi andy !

idling no noise . 206 is quiet smile.gif it only happens when u start moving the car / accelerating from stationary point..the engine goes whee whee... haha like the engine push so hard ohmy.gif
oh and i feel it noisy only in the 1 st gear... once shift to 2nd gear its ok..

n if im not mistaken if over 3 k engine loud is normal, but this is before 3k.. its like the engine struggling.
ive got the nz hood insulator already . maybe i should soundproof my car .?
or perhaps get a K & N open pod hahahaha tongue.gif ure using one right andy

p/s

i have no bro, myvi my gf one.will try again. no confidence to push the myvi . scary

LoL, I saw you type bro in your previous post, I thought you we're talking about your bro, but after read again, I realize you were calling someone else bro. smile_tongue.gif

Whee whee is the gearbox sound or engine? As I not the AL4 has some whee whee sound as well. The engine sound should sound more deeper than whee whee? smile_tongue.gif

NZ Hood insulator is those cheap type. I'm not sure the difference compared with those type use in CBU tough, probably not much?

I don't use Open Pod... you got the wrong person, hahaha

You can soundproof your Lion via the package RM500++ (if I'm not wrong). Look for blackdolphin. smile_thumbup.gif

Whee wee should be coming from GB. There is a filter for ATF. If you dont change the filter soon you get Whee Whee. Not sure about B206. Whee whee is common on most cars including some brand new Accord. Some cars ATF filter is for life. Means you cannot change just like you change the engine oil filter but have to take apart the GB. That is overhaul. To avoid whee whee change ATF as schedule. B206 whee come and go and is not loud or annoying. Whee also indicates time to change ATF oil. Not sure about manual gear box. SC always say this is normal.
