i use Ultimate Compound for some spot removal now....really good stuff, but have to use with caution. Can cause some micro marring even applied by hand, but that light scratch will disappear in no time, and you don't need the elbow grease of scratchx. I also tried UC on the whole car before - here's a pic of a good buddy's car, he came over in the morning, and we worked together to wash (Meg's NXT), clay (meg's with qd), UC, SW regular cleanser and finally SW Saphir. Wheels washed and sealed with SW Autobahn Wheel Wax. It was pretty badly swirled (as in lots of swirls, not really deep) when he came in the morning, but he's all swirl free and happy now!

Nice... smile_thumbup.gif
swirls easier seen on dark colours..... smile_blackeye.gif

BTW, do you guys keep deleting older photos attachment as limited to 500K?

Bro. msk,
Open photobucket account. Upload your photos there, then copy and paste to AW forum, then you don't need to care of the 500k limit..... smile_thumbup.gif

Hmm.. then the workshop spray paint 5 years ago is either without clear coat or cheap for a reason sad.gif

As I mentioned I plan to clay next and just wonder will Permaglass Polymer Sealant lock in the contaminants and make claying harder? I've yet to do that due to not knowing but think PGS will at least add a layer of protection to whatever remaining paint sad.gif

bro i had a little encounters with some dead paint issue.....

from charcoal to diamond attempt
charcoal paint detailing

my little attempt

why dont u drive over & see what can i do ....

Thanks kc2 but I'm in Penang lah.. Anyway, I thought OTC polish once & PG seal ok and NXT.. Now after claying & repolishing it looks better the original paint part.. not those I botch DIY though sad.gif .. now wondering how to remove added paint but not the original? It seems 1-2 times polish still look slight whitish.. I've done 3 times & certain part of the car is now shining BUT of course still with scratches and paint cracks, etc.. So, mine is like resusitating a dead paint Good fun though smile_tongue.gif

Haha, not a jab man, but if you seriously wanted to use ScratchX v1 on the kancil, it'll kill your arms. I would try the UC.

By the way, where do you get your Meg's products in Penang?

vr2turbo & jackson: Thanks for the photobucket info.. Will do it later.

Alvin: Penang Megs just Gurney Parkson onlylah.. I think the other place is 1 stop & PISA which I haven't check out.

Current plan is keep claying & polishing panel & panel until done. And reapply PG Sealant which seems to make it shinier & shinier.. Once it cannot proceed, I will use some ScratchX or Ultimate compound once I get them.

BTW, all seems to use Meguiars? Are there any other brands of Swirl/Scratch/Compound that's good eg from Duragloss, Mothers, Autoglym, etc???
