1. I won't. If same price, it will not be the "value for money", with quality.
2. I buy because it's really value for money and good quality. (NF)
3. If it price the same, again, there's always another brand trying to take over the value for money segment.
4. But, I may, for another gen of hyundai, which is 7 years from now. But definitely not for YF.

kswei,
Sharing info...
Hyundai will be selling "Brand Name" for it future models.
The first batches of Sonata's and Tucson's will be CBU's.
Price won't be as cheap as before, but loaded with tons of gadgets on-board.
Rest assure, quality will be beyond normal standards.
Already got great reviews from the North American and foreign car market.

OK, even if you're skeptical, let's just assume that the Sonata YF is on par with the Camry and Accord in terms of quality. Now, given that each variant also has more features than the equivalent Camry and Accord, will you pay the same amount of money for the YF?

Say for example... Sonata 2.0 High-Spec vs Camry 2.0G vs Accord 2.0 VTi-L

That really depends on how many additional features the Sonata has. It has to be solid features and not "Kah Bintang" style features smile_tongue.gif

For me, the roof is a winner.

My source informs me that the prices will not undercut the Japanese by much which I think the market won't accept but let's hope for the best.

If pricing too near too camry/accord....can just say goodbye to this sonata, will be another i30 for hyundai sime, no matters how many extra features it might have since ppl will go for Japs if pricing is similar or even if only undercuts by 10K

Yes,I know that's why i say I will for brand name after the sonata YF generation, but not YF generation.
for YF generation, i still look for value for money. but in 7 years from now, I will buy for the brand. maybe that time it was called Sonata ZF. Which was build based on whatever tech and gadget they could bring over from Equus.

I don't mind to pay for the brand lar... that time. I believe the Jap very kiam siap.. they always keep all the best gadget, coz no need to share as they can still command the market.

for me, for this generation, which is YF, i won't. Honestly I still look for value for money, but as I said, next gen, i will pay for the brand. but no matter what they try to do, I know. but next gen, then i pay for brand, defnitely not this gen.

I do follow sonata closely for the past 3 years, i read all blogs, release, all forums about hyundai and kia, since I own one NF, so had been following up very closely.

I read all the review posted, by all car site, i view all the videos in youtube and non youtube about sonata. I know how good it is. Feature by feature, no one at same segment can beat them.

But, From the depth of my heart, the more I love the brand, the more demanding I am towards them. So, that's why I say, i pay for the next generation for their brand, but not YF gen. Because I believe in them.

Since I own one NF, I have been promoting hyundai all this while to all my friends, but of course, as usual, no one cares about hyundai sonata NF, as they all go for camry and honda. And when you talk to this people advocates sonata NF, you can feel they just treat like like an idiot..U can feel that. But I still do my part. I think it's good quality and value for money.

But recently I received a lot of call and messenger from friends asking me for opinion for my sonata and what I think about the coming soon sonata.. they heard is very good, and they intend to wait and see before deciding camry or sonata.. see the change ?

I don't care what other people think, My answer to them is straight forward. Since there's no price by Hyundai Yet.

1. If it was price the same or close to camry, I reserved my comment, I ask them go test drive, see the real car and they decide.

2. If it was price around 150K for 2.4 high spec and they still go for camry, I told them they fall into two category.
a. idiot, b, BTC.

full stop.
