I am intrigued on Foam Lance, Foam Gun.

I want to know what is the difference, if there is a difference, what is the price, where its available, do I need to use a power washer or normal strong current hose will do.

As of know, it seems foam gun is used with hose, and the foam lance with a power washer. is the understanding correct?

how do you use them anyway? spray and let it dwell for about 10 mins, then rinse or hose the foam off. or continue with a 2B method.
so is it:
foam, rinse, dry
foam, rinse, foam, 2B, dry
foam, rinse, 2B, dry
foam, 2B, dry

it seems these are used also as the basis for their no-touch washes. as in foam, rinse, dry.

I'd like to know what others think about this.

Yup, foam gun is used with a hose (with reasonable pressure), and the foam lance is to be used with a pressure washer.
As for methods of using, it depends on how dirty the car is and probably how the extra foam can help with the washing process.

If the car has light dust on it, then the foam->rinse->dry should be sufficient.
Most users will use the foam lance in the foam->rinse->wash->dry method.
The foam->rinse->foam->wash->dry is possible too, but for the second foaming, will you be foaming only the panel you are about to wash first, or foam the whole car again?
I have yet to read about foam->wash->dry method.

for me i think will be:
light dirt: rinse,foam,rinse,dry
heavy dirt: rinse,foam,rinse,foam,2BM,rinse
well, thats the plan anyway. yet to be seen smile_sleepy.gif

about the products, all i have which i think is suitable (shampoo with loads of suds) are:
OSREN bubble wash
DG901
Optimum Car Wash
Malco Very Berry

For first time use, i think gonna use OSREN bubble wash.

Osren Bubble Wash is a good starting choice, you can try using Osren NanoWash too.
Besides foaming, the shampoo must have good cleaning power as all the foam in the world won't be able to clean without suitable surfactants or cleaning agents smile.gif

Also must not strip wax.

But rinse is using power washer which uses less water anyway.

Tried my 'foam lance'. Actually have a Karcher 2.01.
Used with OSREN Bubble Wash. I put the clear tube into a bottle that have the shampoo. Then sprayed on mpv. I dont know how to control dilution (if any) as I think it came out too strong. As my wax all gone! Darn.

Anyway, good excuse to put on another layer. Very therapeutic applying wax by hand.
