need advice here from forte owners...
1) there is a brief mechanical szzzz sound behind the steering wheel upon engine turn off and opening any of the doors. any idea wats tis sound is for?
2) notice the blower fan abit noisy at speeds #4 onwards?
3) driver side left air cond louver blows directly to left hand (grasping steering wheel at 10 o'clock) and not to body.

dislikes :
1) horn sound (lik cabbie)
2) boot light (too dim)
planning to upgrade both after 10k km mileage.

likes :
everything else especially the stares from other drivers on the road.

hi rayp,
1) normal..shd be the locking mechanism on the keyless entry unless you BOT
2) agreed but it is cold enough...
3) push the vent higher and lower the steering position...i prefer broader vent design like found in accord
4) horn - u shd hear swift stock horn
5) boot light - or wrap with LED like what rikeys did
6) stare - sorry, no remedy for this, not so soon smile_tongue.gif

thanks darrel. i tot was the mechanical locking system for the steering wheel. no wonder upon pressing the Start button to start the engine, it produces the same mechanical sound right before the starter kicks in.
regarding the boot light, tot of changing to LED type as wat i did to saga and waja boot light.
thanks.

anyone tested starting the car without the aid of smartkey (lik simulation starting when smartkey batt is low or not working properly)? i know there is a slot below the Start button for inserting the smartkey but how do v know if it really works? thinking of worse case senario (jus in case accidentaly drop key and it goes kaput).

yup, that is why u need to close all doors b4 off the engine...
you can take out the batt from the remote, slot it inside and push Start button.... i haven't try before
