what is your current mailage, so expensive r....

Ivan, I think flounder stated 30k. It is expensive if this is a periodical maintenance for 30k km. I would have thought that only major services like timing belt change, etc costs more than 1k.

Also, during your service at Juru, you didnt put the labour charge, is it amortized into part price?
I think we can get the oil filter and engine oil cheaper outside. I'd prefer 10w-40 to 15w50...

without these two, the charges are about right for an authorised SC.

But i do wonder why this items aren't covered by warranty (provided the car is under warranty)?

I changed my idle roller under warranty when it gave the humming sound at 28750 kms..

Went to my first inspection service for my lovely 206 after 6 months..... at Hyper-Genic (yes also known as Epigenic whatever) in pg island.

The total cost of my First Inspection Service shoot up to amount RM641.70 yes you got it right, burning big hole in my pocket for FIRST INSPECTION.

Got there in the morning, have a brief chat with one of the clerk at the office, she suggested to have her mechanic check my engine oil condition (for your info, i just have my top up oil last December 2009 during my tyre claimed at Juru...so it is all good) but i thought oh well no harm done for them to check again, the mechanic came back said engine oil all in good condition.

So i left the scene plan to pick my "baby" later in the evening. Around 11am, i received a call from the clerk, told me that their chief mechanic have a changed of mind and wanted me to change the engine oil to Fully-Synthetic. So i asked why not Semi-Synthetic? clerk said oh Semi-Synthetic only can be used in later service time but not now (how truth i have no idea)....geez....she said if i dont change, anything happened to the engine, its not their fault....sigh


To cut short, before i rant and go out of topic, noted below the breakdown of my FIRST INSPECTION cost


Oil Filter - RM 52.70
Washer Seel - RM 8.70
Total Oil 5w-40 (4 liter) - RM 187.00
ATF Oil (2 Liter) - RM 243.60
Rapid Cleaner - RM9.00

for 10 000 service and maintenance - RM 54.00

on my second service, i better take a day off or so to go Juru than in pg island. their "parang" blade too daring to be handle...

i am not a heavy driver especially if you live in pg, you wont hit 10 000 KM. my current mileage close to 4900KM only.

what a pity chin, pay more b4 CNY edi, sad if i were u. wont they tooo early change the gear box fluid for ur 5k km 206b? (normally is change on 30k km if im not wrong)
or they want make more sales b4 CNY? crazy!!
next time service should ask what they gonna change first
