Penang Island now, Mainland in near future - White lion.. loan approved yesterday.. guess have to wait for another 2 weeks... haven't even pay DP to get allocation.

On the audio cable connecting the USB module to HU for the current 407.. Is it came as standard ? or we have to buy the cable from NZ ? ( and if it is available already since I read the MFD is a different version now if not mistaken )

I have also already finished reading the NavistII user manual since could not really hopes for the SA to teach me

hi
the cabel u have to buy your own.i think around rm100++
but the sound quality not that good using that cabel

i dont know is it because the cabel quality or what?but the more expensive option is to buy directly frm peugeot france the multimedia pack, which to connect the usb/memorycard sd/ipod directly via a cabel directly to the main headunit.they came in set,so we weill get the cabel n also the usb/sd/ipod slot.all cost around rm800

and we still can control the music selection via our audio stalk if using the mp3 or ipod wit the original peugeot cabel usb/sd/ipod

mind u that even after installing the naza cabel we still cant use the ipod.software problem with the korean made navist.

i was thinking later to buy it (the rm800 original peugeot audio set) since the naza cabel sound quality is not that good.but depends , some plp they say the quality is ok.maybe im an audiophile thats why i said its not good.slightly just better then the via FM tx.

mshiraz,
thanks, I am only interested with the Audio connection as I do not own an Ipod and don't think I will going to get one either. I am more interested in the sound from divx and mp3 to the HU. I wonder if Authorized SC allowed to enable the AUX without buying the Naza or original Peugeot cable ? I am a DIY guy ( e.g. my current connection from my Beresford DAC to my HiFi is a set of High quality DIY cable replacing my old Cable Talk cables previously bought from UK )

So, once I see how the connections are. I may able to decides if DIY for a quality Audio cable is an option or not or maybe some already tried and it is going to be a mission impossible.

hi lee.
i will call t'row my favaourite SC here in pj jln 222 and ask them can they 'activate' our aux 1 and 2 without us connecting the naza's cable.

but i really think they can do it since i saw them doing it on my car by just plugging in the laptop and did some click here n there.i think its just a software thing.so i think they can do it.i recomfirm again t'row.

if you can DIY a high quality cable then i 'll pay you to do mine! smile.gif seriously.i go buy the cable myself.

i tell u the naza cable quality is bad u know.but im still not sure why the sound is so bad.i dont know wether its just a simple plug and cable problem,or it might be our korean made navist dont go well with the mp3/sd/ipod cable thing since we access all our mp3/sd/ipod via the navist unit or the problematic korean software clashes with our car sophisticated electrical n software.im not sure.then the connection frm the mp3/sd/ipod to the navist then the cable frm navist to our car headunint.maybe an electrical pro can give his/her opinion here.

i need ipod/mp3 since my compressed songs collection all together came about 16GB.majority are 256kbps mp3's.

ipod easier acces mah smile.gif can flick there n here ,show plp somemore..just kidding.basically i need an mp3 storage.

hi lee
u wanna know how the naza cable sounds like?its like this:

u have 10 set basic equaliser
left to right
31khz, 62, 125, 250, 500, 1khz, 2, 4, 8, 16khz

ok just basic adjusment for the purpose of testing we arrange them all into V shape.easier.

(sounds a bit sharp vocal the 500 and 1 khz u can increase them up till slightly lower then the mid setting)

ok now the naza cable sound like this:
increase max all the 2, 4, 8, khz frm the V shape.

sedap kan?hahahahahah thats the quality...the 2 4 8 khz so sakit my eardrums.

From that Equalizer setting .. i only trying to visualize it.. having a V shape, that is like no mid but only LF + HF... with the 2,4,8khz max... that is really bad.

Anyone has a picture of the Naza Cable or the Original Peugeot Cable ? I am interested to see the connectors on both side.. at least can have a rough idea if I should continue to dream about DIY the cable or it is out of luck.

I am comfortable in DIY audio cables or also high speed serial data requirement if it involve CAN. Of cause I prefers not to mess with CAN unless I have a full schematic / names of what each interfaces are doing.

On top of trying to figure out if it was the Korean's NavisII that sucks or it is the cabling, knowing what connectors would help as we can actually try to directly feeds the Audio into AUX if we can access to it. .. anyway.. All of these are just making guesses as I haven't really know what are behinds the Navis and the HU.

If the pic here is how the Navis II connect to the HU, I doubt the quality will be good on the Audio.. it is just the normal every day cheapo cables.

I cannot see clearer in the pic but can roughly see the cables are terminated with RCA at one end and the other side is just a normal molex type connector. That also meant, it is very hard to achieve high quality from source to the HU... maybe those that have clearer pic of the pic or seen the cable before can advice further if I am seeing the right thing.

Having said that... there are still room to improves if really want to make a different... not to achieve audiophile grades quality but at least ... to at least double the quality shouldn't be a problem...

In case there are doubts, changing this does not / should not cause any interference to the electrical system.. unless I overlooked at it.
