I also got but very hard to touch up .. it looks worse for me especially if you put sealant and everywhere is shiny except the place you touch up .... end up i use my RB to remove everything ... now keep touch up paint at cold storage.

Bro, i tried to touch up this morning and it looks horrible la now!
Now it looks like a layer over the paint job...how did u remove it with the RB? Polish?

To get a better result you have to wait for the paint to dry.. maybe 2-3 days.. and try to wetsanding (2000-3000 grit) that area for level it with surrounding surface. then compounding and polish.. put clear laquer once you satisfied with the colour matching and level..Last put a layer of sealant or wax.. To get a good result better consult proffesional to do the job.. Or if you have a friend who have a bodyshop much better.. can learn from them..wetsanding quite tricky to learn, same as compounding and polish which you will need rotary buffer to achieve desired result..

brought it to a body shop and was quoted 250.00 to re-spray the whole bonnet..
bodyshop recommended by a fren, and he is very particular bout workmanship but is it recommended to just treat the area affected or otherwise?

Have to remember a touch-up paint might only be useful for small stone chip and small scratch..means a peel paint cause by stone chip which will not notice by you if see from far.. for big paint peel off or big scratch or too many stone chips better paint the whole panel for better result and paint matching. One more thing is clean (really clean) the affected area from any wax or ailicon use wax and silicon remover (paint shop sells them) And wait for it to fully dry before any wetsanding or compounding take place. Once done laquer finish can be applied..i prefer to wait until too much stone chipws and send for painting.. i think much better that wy and less hassle..

to treat just affected area or whole panel?
If the painter can guarantee can bring back the exact colour matching.. i will just paint the affected area..But i asked a painter before,he recommend to paint whole panel..ease off their work instead of paint some small area and had to deal with unmatch colour.. but i heard chipsaway can solve that.. Luckyla those kl pugsters..where bodyshop you go? chipsaway?

there were 2 small stone chips..hence my itchy fingers to try the touch up paint.
the problem is the application is layer is quick thick so it looks exactly like after you apply liquid paper on a piece of paper...arggh!!

the painter also recommend to just paint the entire bonnet. reasons as mentioned above. he is located in damansara area (kl).

have not tried chips away, but may visit them to see what they can do for me..

There are few ways to do it. I used a pvc sticker that ppl put on helmets .. just get that, stick on the area you put your touch up ... leave for a while then peel off ... i believe ur touch up would peel out as well. Don't leave too long as it is very sticky ... and take care when you peel .. fingernails will scratch your bonnet if not careful. Best is that you fold some on the side to leave it sticking out like easy peel so that you can peel off.

I RB with some compound to take it out (M105) to level it down .. anyhow RB needs practise and can be dangerous to paintwork.

IMO, No need to repaint lah ... stone chip cannot be avoided. Just use a while and repaint after 3-5 years time if it is really bad.
Don't wait for chances, create them!
