Overall rating based on test drive 8/10. 1.6 SX

Strength: Sufficient power for normal usage. I managed to acccelerate up to 5000 rpm, reaching 80 - 90 km/h, the power is there.
NVH is good. Lots of gadgets in the car.

Weakness: No auto-folding side mirrors. The effect of 17" rims can be felt at times, when the road is uneven. However, I still can accept this, due to the value for money for SX spec. I can downsize the rims to 15 or 16 inches later, if necessary.

Obviously I like this car, that is why I booked it last month (without the test drive at that time). biggrin.gif

Yes, a CBU. Likely to look like showroom car, NAZA logo at the front & back, Kia logo at steering wheel. Will describe the car when I receive it (sometime next month - car allocated to me already).

They will all be wearing 'NAZA' logos. You can, of course, source for the 'KIA' logos outside at some cost.

yesterday i had the chance to test the 1.6SX....since it was oredi 6pm, we only drove thru housing roads...here is my feedback...i showed no pity to the car and driving condition was extreme smile_evil.gif :

- got into the car, press start button felt premium...remembering me of the type-R
- driving position more relaxing with the tilt and telescopic steering...however, my left knee is hitting to the protruding centre console
- throw into shiftronic mode....1st gear rev till almost 60km/hr and 2nd gear slightly above 100km/hr b4 it automatically upshift (safety measure)....gear change is smooth, thanks to the cvvt, no jerking was felt...power wise is not bad for a 1,260kg car shoed with 215 45 R17 big rims....was told the EX will give noticeable pick-up improvement feel
- ride is a bit on the firm side but dampers did a good job absorbing road irregularities and bumps...stable and minimum wobbling was felt when i whacked 45' corners at high speed
- sound proofing is much better than civic / lancer GT.... engine note was not annoying even when revved till red line.... will confirm this again next round when i take the EX on highway since limited stretches of road to hit on 3 figures speed
- going downhill which is curvy at 90km/hr and then i slammed on the brake hard...the ABS and TCS kicked in immediately and the car halted w/out much drama or excessive swerving smile_thumbup.gif ....however the brake feel is heavy but precise according to the amount of force applied

drove the car back to the showroom...love the burning metallic smell after we tortured the car smile_big.gif

next, will try top speed on highway with the 1.6EX....thanks, to the nice & understanding SA smile_approve.gif

EX don't have the stability control system, no one touch engine start, 15 inch tyres

SX has most of these features, 17 inch tyres.

Those system can easily differentiate between the 2 spec.

Thanks for sharing your short test drive. I think there are 2 points which you might be confused of:

1) The gearbox is a standard 4 speed automatic and not a CVT. The CVVT you mentioned is related to the engine, no the gearbox.
2) TCS works during acceleration, not during braking. By the way, what do you mean by brake feel is heavy? Do you mean that you will need more pressure on the brake pedal compared to other cars?

Looking forward to test this car and see if the car matches its hype smile.gif
