Launching date is Nov. 24th...it is about time as the sales figures are not doing well for naza-kia due to old and 'lame' models being sold...let me share a preview of what we can expect to get over here

1.6 Forte (Spore spec)
Engine capacity 1,591 cc
Engine type 4-cylinders in-line
Compression ratio 10.5
Bore x Stroke (77.0 x 85.4) mm
Power 124 bhp
Torque 156 Nm

Performance
Acceleration 12s (0-100kmh)
Top Speed 182kmh
Fuel consumption 14.2 km\L

Misc technical data
Transmission 4-speed automatic
Drive type FWD

Measurements
Dimensions (L x W x H) (4530 x 1775 x 1460)mm
Wheelbase 2,650mm
Min turning radius unknown
Kerb weight 1,326kg
Fuel tank capacity 52L

Brakes
Brakes (Front) Ventilated disc
Brakes (Rear) Disc

Suspension
Suspension (Front) MacPherson struts
Suspension (Rear) Coupled torsion beam axle

Looking at the data for the 1.6A, the engine is rather powerful for a 1.6, but i am surprise to see that acceleration 0-100km/h took a full 12 secs and top speed is rated at only 182km/h.

as for the rather slow acceleration, i guess the kerb weight of 1,326kg is really the culprit here.

another culprit is the auto gearbox (i assume with torque converter). Auto gearbox will sap around ~20% of engine power, so 124 bhp -20% = 99bhp at wheel.

the 1.6A wouldn't be a spirited drive with 99bhp dragging a 1,326kg mass. For that, maybe need to buy the 2.0A model, even if the1.6A torque figure is quite excellent.

real world fuel consumption wouldn't be 14.2km/L, i guess more in the region of 10.5~11.5km/L.

Nevertheless, this is one handsome car, similar in effect to the Lancer, just much much more affordable.
It should be a hit with the market.

Rikeys bro, so u r heading down to Spore to get early test drive...good, let us know ur findings on this car
To me, when buying a new car i will look for 3 main aspects regardless of brands or rebadging:
1) overall look, built quality, performance and specs offered - this will give joy and pride driving it for many years smile_approve.gif
2) selling price - within budget scale
3) after sales service and avaibility of parts - for that peace of mind

2nd hand value smile_question.gif ....never bother much coz i will own it minimum for a period of 5 years unless i am blessed with a windfall

The Kia Forte Koup will be coming in 2.0 form as confirmed by the Naza boss in an earlier statement. It will be CBU with a much higher price tag than the "CKD" sedan.
