Looking at the data for the 1.6A, the engine is rather powerful for a 1.6, but i am surprise to see that acceleration 0-100km/h took a full 12 secs and top speed is rated at only 182km/h.
as for the rather slow acceleration, i guess the kerb weight of 1,326kg is really the culprit here.
another culprit is the auto gearbox (i assume with torque converter). Auto gearbox will sap around ~20% of engine power, so 124 bhp -20% = 99bhp at wheel.
the 1.6A wouldn't be a spirited drive with 99bhp dragging a 1,326kg mass. For that, maybe need to buy the 2.0A model, even if the1.6A torque figure is quite excellent.
real world fuel consumption wouldn't be 14.2km/L, i guess more in the region of 10.5~11.5km/L.
Nevertheless, this is one handsome car, similar in effect to the Lancer, just much much more affordable.
It should be a hit with the market.
