Hmmm strange, I thought you will have tight beading when Pink Wax is applied freshly.
Oh, I used Poli-Seal before Pink Wax, so that might helped the beading. Having a clean surface helps in my experience smile.gif
If you have the time after your exams, you can try applying PW over several AIOs that you have and see if it affects beading. So far I have tried PW and 1000P over Poli-Seal, Colly 476 and 915 over FK215. Those combos work well and seems durable in my experience.

Bro VX, FB & Jackson,
Its always a pleasure to read your write up. Valuable points indeed.... smile_thumbup.gif
Beading is a way of detailing preferred but leaving long on the panels is something I wish not to have...

I remembered Bro Whoopee once said, if it rains he prefers to drive faster to dischrage the beading and sumone also said his kids love to see the drop lets fyling away....hmmm smile_approve.gif

Hehe, imagine the excuse he has to give if a policeman stopped him for 'speeding' smile_big.gif
"I am sorry officer, I was just trying to dry my car or I will get water spotting!" bek075.gif

It it fun to see how the beads starts to roll off the car, like how a spaceship is going into 'hyperdrive' or a 'jump', where all the 'stars' start to turn into lines and left behind 059.gif

Per my (personal) defination, water beading is a characteristic of tight surface tension (i.e the coated surface having a pore size much smaller than the water droplet itself), hence the water beads instead of just sheets away. A good water beading is measured by how evenly and rounded the water droplets are on a surface. A freshly waxed paintwork will give you good water beading effect but as the oil layer is slowly worn off, the beading weakens, when it happens it is an indication of weaken protection as pollutants, dirt, acid, oil, tree sap, bird poo etc can slowly crep into the pores of the paintwork resulting in deep etching marks and difficulties in cleaning the paint surface. Of course that's just my layman understanding so afaic good water beading = good protection until proven otherwise! smile_tongue.gif

Water beading on my car after a rain shower 8.5 mths after application of G'Zox Glass Coating...cleaning my car is now a simple 15mins affair

Hi, may I know where to buy this G'Zox Glass Coating and how much is it?

You can't buy G'Zox it is not available for retail as it has to be professionally applied.

So you gotta hunt macdude down...I believe he now has a few sets on trial after he saw the beading on my car as I drove to his garage under heavy downpour and my car was literally coated with a thick layer of traffic film at that time (from not washing my car for 1 full month smile_sleepy.gif )

silgt,
wow 8.5 months and still beading like that?! smile_thumbup.gif smile_thumbup.gif
How does the paint feel? No dirt-in-paint or contaminants that have to be clayed/polished away?

Yes...that's what surpises me. The coating didn't look anything out of ordinary when I first applied it but after 3 months I began to take notice. It beads beautifully everytime I wash my car or after a heavy downpour...after seeing so many "products" that fails to deliver, with G'Zox I became a believer!

Now it's about 10 months since I glass coated my car and with 1 simple maintenance in between. I try to breakdown the coating to see how they stand up to abuse but even with a layer of traffic film on it, you'll still get good beading. Dirt washed away easily because they stay on top of the glass coat. I sometime washes my car once every 3-4 weeks and today (2 wks after my last wash) the surface still feels smooth and sleek to the touch.

I try not to preach too much into this as it will seem like I have a vested interest in it but as someone who has been here for awhile, and one who was a non-believer, I finally found MY holy grail!! I could use or endorse any other products so long as they deliver the look/finish that pleases my customers so I only hoped there are a few G'Zox-ed cars in KL that you guys can see and decide if it works for you or not.

That's true. Since my wee little test here (M21 Synthetic Sealant VS Soft99 Fusso Coat), I've belonged to the camp of good beading does not always mean good protection, will be glad to be proven wrong. So for me, contradicting to sifu silgt, good beading does not always indicate good protection. But hey I'm only a hobbyist, 'A man with experience is not at the mercy of a man with an opinion'(quote from an Autopian).

I admit I like to see nice beads because it looks cool! haha

spirit36,
I'm not a pro on water beading but I'm guessing taller beads will be preferred. If we look at an angle parallel to the car's paint, beads will usually have a shape of a semi-circle but paint with a higher surface tension will form taller water beads where it takes the form of a 3/4 circle, as shown in the photos by vx55 and silgt.

Thanks for the reply silgt. Great to hear you are getting really good results with the G'Zox as I'm a skeptic of all these coatings myself. What about it's detergent resistance capability? Will it wash off if you were to wash your car with a very strong shampoo solution?
Another example is while washing the wheel, I accidentally spray some strong all-purpose cleaner on the paint, will that area not bead water anymore?
I have been following WAC detailing's twitter and he kept posting cars that have been G'Zoxed but I was unaware of its capabilites. Now your post has poisoned me...
