My family has an Unser 1.8AT and I drove Innova 2.0AT before...I can say Innova is much smoother and more powerful. Driving the Unser at 140kmh is a bit struggling to the engine already but it is still fine with Innova. Innova has better seats for the front but I feel that the rear seats design for Unser is more comfortable. Innova is so much more quieter but the maintenance for Unser is really super cheap. The Unser has clocked >300,000km and it's already 9 years but still not much major things need to maintain.

I understand that the RPM for both Unser and Innova is quite high? 3.5k RPM if driven at 100kmph? Is it true?

rochan, for unser, i dunno, but for innova is definitely false.
innova, 110kph is about 3000rpm.
3.5k is about 125-130kph ed.
With stock tires the speedo is 5% optimistic compared to handphone GPS reading.
cruising rev is high compared to an e46 or even an sm4, but the noise is not something you'd notice until the driver pushes it past 4000rpm.
jamjam, it also uses hydraulic tappets, no need to check valve clearance.

the innova is an overall improvement over the unser. of course, its a smoother and more powerful. consider the 3 facts below.
2.0 vs 1.8
16 valve vs 8 valve
VVT vs none

It seems like Toyota has make it a standard for all their cars to have ABS. Even the J spec Vios also got ABS !!

ya lorr.. it seems that ABS is cheaper to install than airbags. but from one point of view its better to to have ABS to minimise risks on accidents.
