Just a quick question from the sifu here. How much is a Matrix 1.6M? Is it being sold. Looking for a replacement for my wife who is currently driving Kembara. Matrix is very spacious, although boot space a bit smaller than sedan. Any feedback on this model. Sime Darby now in chage of all Hyundai, any price incresse. What is different from the Innokam Matrix? TQ

Dear cfa,

i am in the midst of deciding between matrix or spectra5 or myvi SE. this is due ot the budget of the cars below RM60K.
About matrix manual - i am not sure of the price but matrix 08 model of 1.6 auto is RM59,xxx. so definitely the manual is much cheaper. Add rm1,000 if you want bodykit for sportier look.

go to either puchong bandar puteri, jln ipoh or ss2 showroom. all three have good and enthusiatic sales reps.

also there is no difference between sime darby or inokom matrix. when you buy a matrix now, there will be an inokom logo and also a sime darby badge on your car. you can tell the salesman to change to hyundai logo for free both front and back.

also would you able to advice me matrix or spectra5?
thanks, Jude...

hi judedavid,
yes..currently me drive Matrix CBU 2003 and Trajet CBU 2005...
the FC is a bit high if u stuck in da jam! seriously but not too high laa coz it is 1.6 only..
but in hiway, it very save a lot.. me done once from KL to Johor with only RM30bucks! but u must set the auto cruise and drive 85-90km/h.. will u? hehehehe...
the car since 2004 registered till todate have no problem at all! not like my local car which SC also cant solve problems.. so i decided to throw RM82k for that CBU condition.. but now only Rm60k below, u can get Matrix... wallau eh.. rugi a lot!
the parts, body, engine is from Korea .. only Inokom install it here... but sincere talk the quality is not as CBU but can laaa...
not to kondem Inokom, but u know la there will be a differ between CBU and CKD..
if u looking for spacious in passenger, go for matrix.. if u looking for save, go for Myvi.. but i have no idea on spectra 5 coz evendo Kia and Hyundai are same company in Korea, but i prefer Hyundai in Malaysia..

HI WJW,
Thanks for your reply. I agree that CBU and CKD have a lot of difference. One very clear difference is the carkey. I own a GETZ 2006 model which is CBU and the carkey is very good quality, you know the one alarm button on your car key thingy. But when i tested the Matrix CKD auto - the car key and alarm was so cheap and i SWEAR i could have broken it with one hand. and why doesn't hyundai or inokom rectify the problem for matrix auto cruise button? it is so flimsy that it can detach at any time. why not they just integrate it to the steering wheel?

About the fuel comsumption - i worry when you say that it is high coz most of my driving is in city. how much is high when you said it is high in jams?

also if it gives me guaranteed good FC, i dont mind driving as slow as possible. 85-90km/h is my normal speed on highway.
previously i used to own a nissan sunny 130Y. driving within this speed range from KL to hadyai and back on cost me RM150 on fuel. haih i miss that car !!!!!
thanks, Jude...

hai jude,
high means that if u stuck in heavy jammed.. u can see the difference..but not so makan minyak lorr... i think normal la.. any cars also which stuck in heavy jam, will be the same waatt.. except for manual car lorr.... hehehe
but i'm happy to drive my 1.6 matrix... now already 5 years and clocked 132k km... without any fail to service me and my wife.. as long as u keep yr mind open that Korean car is good as other brands!
