Greetings,

Those who have sent their 308 for 10k service, how much engine oil needed for oil change actually?? coz if you refer to the 'Media Information - Petrol Engines in the BMW Group/ PSA Peugeot Citroën Cooperation' PDF document page 13 it says..

"The engines are filled initially with 4.2 litres of light running oil, with 3.7 litres being required when changing oil."

I sent to KS for 10k service and they used 5 liter instead.. anybody knows why..??

How much did you paid for the 5 liter? What type of oil.

Another question. Should I send the car for service at 6 months even before it reach 10K KM or can I drive up to 10K before sending it for service?

they used Caltex oil. The guy confirmed they use 5W30 for 308 but on the receipt printed Fully Synthetic 5W40.
forgot the exact price but around RM 190++ (4L) + RM 60++ (1L)..

i think u should send it every 6 mths.. i'm afraid it will void yr warranty if u dont follow the schedule..

Weird why they would print 5W40....but does your engine feels light or coarse? Cos the EP6DT works best on 5W30

Hi aslan !

I changed my oil at the 2.5k km service at KS also. They also used 5 litres. When I asked they said the car needed that much. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the media information at that time.... I think its also Caltex but not sure of the grade of oil. Let me check.

Guys, the car doesn't need 5L. We need to seek clarification from KS or Peugeot Regional Office. It looks like we are being played again and this isn't amusing!!! And KS isn't using Caltex 5W/30.

just sent my car for servicing at geot auto. they also said car needed 5L. Geot auto is using Total. Overall, I like geot auto better than the rest coz good service and no need to queue and no need booking also.

Which grade did they use? I will post the official media kit for the THP engine to show you guys that the THP or VTi doesn't need 5L of engine oil.
