Hi,
I'm just another ordinary petrolhead, just that I have a big dream of seeing my company using my designs and hopefully being able to bring the name Malaysia to a new level in terms of performance car makers in the local market and also foreign market. The big question is, is this possible? I mean can I go through some sort of paper work to get my company in the industry, then start producing cars to sell to other Malaysians and hopefully other parts of the world? For the record, I'd even have a couple of designs under my wing, ready to be discovered. These designs aren't as great as the other full-time designers in the world, but rather a display of my ideas of what I think the Malaysian automotive market lacks. Can anybody solve the mystery that kept bugging me. Lets put down the fact that I'm 18 and I'm too young for all these. I just need an answer, is it possible, or is it not. Appreciated those who REALLY wanted to help...

you can try to be a tuner for proton cars. quite similar to what AMG, Carlsson and Brabus did to Mercedez. or how Mitsuoka converted Nissan March, Sentra and Teana to become their own model.

if you plan to be a mere franchise holder there are several makes that never made it to malaysia like Seat and Lancia. or Atom.

Very good, mate. I suggest you hang on to your ideas first. Get some working experience, build some contacts. Once you have a solid network in place, it makes it easy to get things going. smile_wink.gif

For a start, if you think your designs are worthy for consideration by major manufacturers then you should register your designs so that nobody can copy them without your permission.

There's a copyright office in Putrajaya. I trust you have a number of friends studying law, they should be able to direct you better. Good luck. smile_thumbup.gif

Attached with this post is an example of my creation, a kancil modified by myself using my own ideas... Its criticizing time... Don't worry, its virus-free, no reason for me to do so (even if there is, i wouldn't know how!)

smile_shock.gif You're going to drive that on the road everyday?

Why not design something that majority of the drivers can accept, and most important practical. If you can comes out design like the latest let say, Honda Accord? I can guaranteed that, you're hot man.... smile_big.gif
Ram me if you can!

dont be disheartened bro skyetan........I mean if you can design for lowly kancil and win the mass market to drive your creations, for the other more popular cars such as for Honda, your designs will be a breeze to sell. But make sure your design passes the PUSPAKOM requirements, they are quite sticky if you modify too much that the Kancil originality is lost.

Keep on designing, but make sure they are roadworthy and not to mention the designs must reach certain std and quality for it to be posted, or else every budding artists and designers, from 6 to 60, will be posting their work here.

As you know our bro SF is a very busy man with so many websites and forums to write smile_blush.gif , so give him some quality work to comment on

Rgds.
