The good thing, Vkool simply replaced one of my window and the wind screen for totally free at the end of 5yrs warranty period. Just bring your car and complains if you feel you have the right.
as i know ,they will not ask you any question at all...just show the warranty card will do.....

I have done some survey on forums, and have shortlisted 3 brands - Llumar, Ray Tech & Vkool. All have similar % of rejection. I've used Vkool elite before on my Honda City 5 years ago. Satisfactory. Now for my new ride, thinking of using different brand as Vkool is not getting good reviews recently - discoloration, deoxidised, fake, workmanship, etc. My concern for the above 3 brands are mainly on price, afraid of being overcharged.
Another forumer got quoted for Ray Tech security film for RM1200 (after SA give discount). It's even cheaper than Vkool Elite (non-security film). Hard to believe leh....
Btw, thought of putting darker tint for the rear windscreen and the rear-side windows (for MPV) to prevent "peeping toms" from eyeing luggage. Worry about JPJ kacau....
I was quoted RM2300 for Llumar Security (Crystal 5) by the sole distributor (HQ, near Carrefour Jalan Peel, KL). I was told, if go thru SA, will be cheaper cos they sell to SA at dealer price. They cannot give end users the dealer price, else the dealers will make noise. But I will only do tinting work at the HQs.
I'm still doing price survey...... Anyone can help out?

Hi Sento,
I am also shopping for tint, and Ray Tech is also one on my shopping list (apart from V-kool). the cost you quoted is quite attrative, but for which variant? as far as I know, Ray Tech security film has a few models, all 4mil thickness, with different aspects of VLT, IRR, UV, TSER and also different prices for different sizes of cars. Best of the lot is their 8mil security and costs around RM3k for a standard saloon!
For V-kool, best I got was RM2,100 for their security film (cool armour or something) for 4 doors (4mil), with Elite for front (1.5mil) and back (2mil) windscreens... and the reason I m not jumping to it was the issue on smart-tags.....
Appreciate your update.

banker

For estima, I got RM2220.00 for v-kool elite (front), V-kool secure (8mil) for driver door & front passenger door, v-kool secure (8mil) for the small 2 front side glass. The sliding door and back windscreen were not tinted since those are already dark (privacy glass).
Raytech is cheaper. I think can even get about RM1,200.00 at Bangi branch (special offer for new branch opening promotion), but the security film is only 4 mil instead of 8 mil.

Hi Matkamil,
where did u do ur v-kool? Sounds cheaper than my quote. U did only 3 pieces, 2 doors and 1 windscreen, no? I was also looking at the 8 mil but was quoted >RM3k for it!

Just to share my view...I have recently installed 3M crystalline, heat rejection in fact better than V cool I had in my other car. The only set back is that not smarttag friendly. I m not so particular on that.
When talking about tint, it is better to go for brand that has their own R&D facilities instead of those rebranding under their own trade name. This way you can be assure of the quality of the tint and has less hassle when come to warranty claim.
Jz my 2 cents....

If not smart tag friendly, then like old style V kool. Have to leave an area for smart tag to transmit......
