Hi,

I am planning to get a 2nd hand Camry either ACV 30 or ACV31 (cheaper) but can't decide. I am wondering, beside the engine different (2.0 vs 2.4), what other features that are different? smile_question.gif

Also thinking about Ipsum, heard that it is better than Wish. Any idea whether UMW will help service/repair Ipsum in Malaysia?
Or maybe any local workshop (in Klang Valley) know how to service/repair Ipsum?

Care to help enlighten me?

Thanks.

There's a thread on ACV30/31. Think you can get most of your concerns there.

if you currently driving 1600CC car below, then go for 2000cc, if 1.8 or 2.0cc then go for 2.4

the difference on 2.0 and 2.4 is not much. engine's aside, i believe the 2.0 doesnt have VSC. and power seats. anyway, as mentioned by Camry sifu - Joytoy, there is a thread on this model where the owners gather online.

i would go for the 2.0, even if its slightly underpowered while the 2.4 is more useful if one really appreciates the extra power and/or often ferrying people.

The Ipsum is a model sitting between Wish and Estima. it is also known as the Toyota Picnic and the latest model either available in 2.0 or 2.4 litre engines. as the normal practise by UMWT, they do not entertain parallel/grey import Toyotas.

Thanks guy for the valuable information.

By the way alldisc, when i was scouting around, i did saw the face-lifted ACV31 does have leather & powered seat. I think you are right that the only different is only the VSC feature.

If UMWSC doesn't accept Ipsum for service, then where does all the Ipsum owner go for service? Does the local workshop know how to service Ipsum? Actually, I am also very interested in Ipsum because it can ferry 7 people plus it has rear aircon vent compared to Wish

OEM FL ACV31 did not come with leather seats. it was installed separately by the previous owner of the car. power seat only for driver's side in FL ACV31. in FL ACV30, both front seats are powered. the differences are the 2.4V has got leather seats, TRC, VSC, front power seats, Projector type HID headlamp with auto adjustment, 16" rims with bigger and fatter tires, chrome linings and door handles, optitron meter, anti-glare rear view mirror and wood panelling. i think i didnt leave out anything, didnt i?

and 2.4V's engine is much more refined and power delivery is very strong and smooth all the way with lots of torque.

hi rochan, I will prefer the ACV 30 (one of the reasons is I have one Ha! Ha!). The ACV 30 is slightly more expensive to buy but it is worth the extra just to have more powerful engine. The anti glare rear view mirror is a wonderful thing. It changes color to reduce the glare from the head light from the cars behind. It the ACV 31, you will have to dip the mirror to reduce the glare. Attached is a catalog comparing the features of the ACV30/31.

Simon, you had left out the folloiwngs:
4 spoke leather steering with wood trim, 6 CD changer instead of single disc player, sun visors with lamp (passenger and driver), illuminated entry system with door lamp (ACV 31 has), leg room lights and inner door handle lights, power rear sun shade, one touch power windows with anti jam on all doors (ACV 31 on driver only) and some extra chrome and wood trim.
