The car I test drove was CBU, before booking the Swift. I got my car last Dec. which is a CKD. Frankly I can`t tell the difference in handling, felt it is the same! SA told me Malaysian CKD Swifts are sourced from India.

I can imagine there would be quite a bit of a difference in price between Japan and Indian CKDs .The Indian manufactured parts appear to be as good as the Japan ones. However I`m sure there`s difference in QC between CBU and CKD. There was slight difference in quality ( lower ) between the car I received and the CBU which I test drove. Seat belts being locally made were faulty from the 1st day of delivery. Everything else works well, no squeaks or rattles.

MASsenger

Your statement is really untrue and unfounded there.

I have a friend who works in Suzuki Malaysia Production Dept. and here is my take:

First, Suzuki CKD pack is from Japan and not from India. Buying CKD from india will incure suzuki 30% import Duty, but buying from Japan it is 0% import duty under the Malaysia- Japan free trade agreement (MAJEPA). SMA is not crazy or stupid in buying more expensive CKD from India.

2nd.
Who is the SA that you talk about. give his/her name and dealer name please. If you cannot provide name then he or she maybe some SA from competitor brand pretending to be Suzuki SA and trying to damage suzuki name here.

3rd
Seat belts are still sourced from Japan. so you statement looks like you are talking crap.

4th
I prefer CKD suspension setup as it is more compliant with Malaysia road and the tail is a little more happier then the CBU's

Kawan, on need to get antagonistic and sarcastic. Have some decency. This is just a forum to share information. If you have better or more information, just state it.

I see your point on MAJEPA and agree with it. May be the SA b/s me for the sale. I`m not even going to bother about it cos your point makes sense. Anyway it does not matter to me where the parts are sorced from, as long as they are up to standard.

The point is the car is good and i enjoy it. There are no issues other than my seat belt that jams. I will get it fixed on my next service.

Cool bro!

HAHAHAHAHA........Aveo design by Giorgio Armani..HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! you are truly the "car sale man"

Please read below.....dude ! ( aveo was name Kalos original in Daewoo)

Conception
Originally designed by Italdesign Pininfarina, the Kalos derives directly from the Kalos Dream concept vehicle first presented at the 2000 Paris Motor Show and subsequent developmental concepts at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show, 2002 Geneva Auto Show, and 2003 at the Geneva Show. (Kalos Dream photos) During this three-year development period Daewoo was struggling financially, with the ultimate fate of the company and the concept vehicle remaining uncertain.

Upon introduction the initial European models carried an emblem reading "Design Giugiaro." Referring to his firm's design of the Kalos, Giorgetto Giugiaro said:

€œ When we designed it, we set out to produce an alternative to conventional lines and tread new paths in terms of design. [5]

HAHAHA....... biggrin.gif HA HA you are right & very specific.å°å¼Ÿæ¬£æ•¬ï¼ smile_thumbup.gif

Cool bro!

I myself have owned a CBU Swift for 4 years already. and i have examined CKD one in detail, i believe they are of same quality. Materials in the interior also the same. The only difference i have found, as i stated earlier, was CKD use carbon spark plugs where CBU use Iridium as oem.
