If they are not strong nor tough, then they won't last long either, that is why they still need to top up every six months......

Why indeed...........
Put it this way, what do we want to see or feel when we apply wax? Gloss, slickness, body, beading etc etc.
No matter how tough a coating is, its still not contaminant proof and scratch proof and its those dirt and contaminants that reduces the slickness and beedings and the scratches or marrings that reduces the gloss, hence they have to do something every 6 months. Well that's what I think la.
I have not seen a coating that is able to withstand watermarks without having to prep and RE-COAT. Like i said, most coating manufacturers aren't car care based. Do you see Duragloss, Zaino, Osren, Meguairs, Poorboys, Chemical Guys, etc... with Teflon stuff???

FYI, polishing is what makes the car reflective and shinny. And Teflon has nothing to do with surface prep. Wax do boost shine too
Let's take a new car for instance, a vios.
Full of OP and looks dull when you receive the car right? If you were to just apply wax or coating, and I were to make it OP free, which do you think will be more shinny??

Hmm,
Thanks guys for all info, but I hv done the teflon coating thingy last friday. Hopefully it will last forever and ever and ever and ever
But if not at least another 6 months, I need to fork-up another rm100 or so..but what to do..choices has been made..nonetheless..thanks you guys for all advise..
btw, putting down hose from 10th floor is not an option and with condo managment provided car wash servises, not washing bay provided...
