I am planing to protect my new car paint with some kind of coat/sealent. So far my choice would be:
1) Teflon - which has been discuss many time here with quite a few satisfied customer.
2) Glass/silica - which is unheard of (to me atleast). what intrest me is that its claim that no-after care needed - only normal car wash will do (while teflon need to be chemical wash every 6 month and the shop always full on weekend). The glass coating also give 5 year warranty. Can any experiance user/sifu give any comment for this kind of product.(seem that i can only find review on teflon here, none on glass)
Is it for real or just a con job? I wanna try this thing (cos their claim look like a easy after care) but afraid not as good as teflon (abit tedeous aftercare - opps i know most of you will flame me if say teflon is hard to maintain - but living in condo/apartment, quite hard to wash car myself).

I love to DIY bro, used to wash and wax the car myself previously..but but but..now stay in condo..no space to wash also..no water pipe..most people at my place sent to car wash in basement..too bad..thats why I need to find alternative for my new ride..atleast some coating before the car wash mamak/bangla ruin my paint..

I thought Condo have place for you to wash the car, as per a few sifus here.
Even bro. spirit36 stay is apartment throws down a hose to wash his monster.....
This is real fanatic and hardcore.....
Moreover, if you are sending to bangla/mamak to wash the car, I think the glass and/or PPS treatment is no match for them....

Just some inputs on modern coatings,
Be it Teflon, Glass/silica, or any other coatings out there, do check their company background first. I found most coating manufacturer do not have car care knowledge and the coatings made are so happened applicable for cars therefor IMO their products are a technological breakthrough but not practical in the real world.

If the coating is so strong and tough, why do they need to retouch every six months??
