My harrier 2.4G aircon got "tak...tak.." sound. But when I increase the temp. the sound go away. When I ask the workshop they reply it's okay. That's because the heater water sound. Do you have the same experience? Are you able to solve the problem?

Thank in advance for your advise.

I thought "tuk tuk" air con sound is problem for 1st Generation Harrier only ?

For 1st Generation, the sound is from the front passenger air con blower which needs to be greased.

Mine problem is not fixed yet. but read the above from Lexus forum.

Your harrier is facing problem with the servo motor controlling the heater damper. The servo motor runs on gears and as it wears, it might jump gears and cause the tak...tak sound. There is also an inherent problem of a soft continuos rubbing sound emitted by the servo motor which is caused by a worn out potentiometer in the servo motor assembly as it searches for the stopping point predetermined by the a/c control panel. Common problem for harrier (1st and 2nd gen.) and estima.

Not hard to solve the problem as parts are available for replacement. PM me for more details.

Is it expensive to repair? My estima has the same problem.
