anything related to the family will do. trink39.gif

but what actually i heard is that the mondeo will made available from s'pore.
Regent Motors, the ford authorized dealer there, is a member of sime darby group.
so the model is likely 2.3 ghia. just guessing they still can get the price right.

price similar to camry as said earlier but not sure is 2.0 or 2.4 camry

ppl may not get use to ford producing camry segment car since ford were only concetrating on pickup

mazda 3 very good choice speedsnail but civic is not bad either in the end individual preferance

jayraptor,

focus is the best selling model in uk, dun think they wanna change something that has proven good sales. while in uk they do have other engine option like TDCi using the dual clutch system.

for the fiesta, as i know it is in a hatch form like honda jazz
not sure they have the sedan. yes it will be good if ford can increase their car model in malaysia

now we only have focus ranger everest escape

Hi Mr DC18 & Mr V,

Didn't u guys know that China is paying Ford to build sedan version? It's already available and Ford China is currently preparing to launch the new Ford Fiesta Sedan in 2010 but if economy could recover soon, it'll be launched by this year. The news came out in Malay Mail Motor last week or 2 weeks back issue.

Yes, it's a sedan with tail. Didn't show how the back looks like but the shape looks like Mondeo. That'll save Ford from losing entirely. Hope they'll replace the ageing Ranger and Everest too. Both needs new, larger and stronger frame. That's 1 main reason why Ford is losing share in pickup market - lack of large cabin and new frame. Ford builds best pickup truck but the frame that the 2 are using is ageing and needed replacement ASAP!! I want entirely new Ranger with big interior space, current cargo bed is long enough if could make it wider would be real nice.

Mondeo would need to be priced lower than Camry in order to survive. It needs to convince the people to trust Ford again. After sales service, maintenance cost and parts availability are main priorities and what we all fear most. Resale value comes after these. If Auto Connection is smart enough, they should bring in Fiesta 1.6 1st market it real well b4 bringing in larger D-segment Mondeo. Else, Mondeo would face hard time. Entry Level is primary as most local buyers would not dare to buy any brand over RM100k that is not convincing. Entry level is the main key to convince buyers on how good it is

Hi Jayraptor,

I agree with u for what u had suggested to Ford, personally i hope that Auto Connection should follow what Nasim has done for Peugeot. I can't say that Nasim is doing very well right now but at least it did come out something which is quite effectively! The sales are increasing indeed. Currently i am driving a Peugeot 407CKD, longer before i couldn't believe that i afford to own it. That's because Nasim is really keen on promoting this particular car brand and came out different kind of promotion package to attract consumers and most importantly they priced down the cars and some make it CKD. So i doubt that Auto connection is really not doing good enough for this.. smile_disapprove.gif

Hi lalanuni!

Yes, you are right. Nasim keeps pushing even though not making much profit from Pug and Kia. Never give up, keeps bringing in spare parts and keeping technical service alive. Focus much on after sales service. Always market the cars aggressively. Could see Pug and Kia ads in car articles and news like CBT and Star Motoring creating as much awareness as possible.

Others would just stop after failing once, give up and wait for money to fall from the sky, at the end close down and abandon all existing owners.

Haha...same happened to Audi jb branch..closed down because of that...sigh! Btw DC18, you are right in some way but Ford Malaysia( as example) has to think about how to reboost its own market seriously..no matter what cost!

Agreed. The 1st step taken was to reduce the selling and making it mor attractive for Focus but Focus is prefacelifted and not same as 308 which is totally new model and attractive pricing.

But i forsee 308 demand will stabalize once supply is stock up again. much like the Lancer Gt phenomenom.

Peugeot 308 does really tempting but focus also not bad too. Regarding to focus's performance, i drove it before few years ago..it was awesome! I did put it into my consideration last time but ended up chosen 407 ultimately. Let's wait for the arrival of Mondeo together..i wish to see it soon(*closest rival to 407). trink39.gif

it really is awesome when mondeo are compared to the 3-series & a4 by the european car journalist. i think it is fair if the price should be a little above camry, accord or the mazda 6. i just hope it doesn't reach up to passat range. happy.gif
