Supplier from China is sponsoring the 20"ft container and I have 2 units personal purchase.
This is a quick bulk. I actually bought 2 units for myself L1 and L8. Payment through TT.
Ms Raymond Zhang will be shipping my 2 units out to me by end of this week. 20 days sea shipment with container.
Please drop her e-mail: zhangruixian@hotmail.com
My rather empty container will be arriving at Butterworth port in Penang.
She is sponsoring China-Penang container cost for this first round
Still have space for 18 more.
Please review and let her know if you are interested.
Payment has to be made directly to her via TT.

rdgs,
is a bicycle first and foremost Import duty should be less than RM100 each
"In terms of components manufactured it can be seen from Table I that all components with the exception of crank and chain wheel, hubs, pedal, and bell are manufactured by the ancillary firms. The ancillary firms do not market their own brands of bicycles. They merely manufacture bicycle components and sell them either to the two large manufacturers (hence the name "ancillary") or to the bicycle dealers for the replacement market. The tariff levied on imported bicycle (completed set) as at 1978 is M$60 per set. On imported component parts the tariff varies according to the parts-ranging from M$20.00 on one body frame to M$I.00 on parts of brake system. The tolal tax on all the parts (Ievied separately) for a bicycle amounts to M$74. The tariff schedule offers uniformly high protection on all components, e.g., M$20 for a body frame and M$15 for luggage carrier. Though in the short-run this may benefit the local bicycle manufacturers, in the long run it is unlikely to stimulate them to be export-oriented even in components in which the local firms have strong international comparative advantages in terms of factor endowment."

If you are sure of the tariff codes, then okay. If not check, with the classification officer or go for ruling.
This is because every customs officer classify differently, so this is just to be on the safe side...

they may put it under transport w/ a motor (be it a fuel or bettery), then we may need a AP to get it into M'sia.
I think last time some one hv this small bike for sale (even not for road used) in Puchong, they also kena the APs problem.... stupid NAP!!

well is sad actually... Malaysia does not encourage innovation.. just look at china.. electric bicycles are so common today.. it all began as a small industry..

There are plenty of DIY videos on youtube for converting a motorcycle to an electric motor. The average project cost runs around $3000 usd though motorcycle included.
I'm sure you could build an electric bicycle for $500 usd + the bicycle.

What would you attempt to do, If you knew you couldn't fail?

I shall be visiting Penang between 2 and 15 August 2009. I use an electric bike at home in New Zealand and would like to be able to use one while I am in Penang.
I don't really want to buy one for such a short time. Does anyone know if it is possible to hire one? or borrow one? :-)
My email is don@esslemont.org, and I'll log in here when I get the chance.
