You all should try this:
For US$39, it can extend your car battery life 2x to 3x. Really worth the investment.

I'm also using Delkor din 66 on my car(04 Audi A4 1.8T), not a Volvo but I think the " hot environment" of the engine bay should be about the same as S40 or even worse, will see how long it can last for...
BTW, my original battery is a lot bigger than the din66 I'm using now, but the shop I went didn't have that kind of big battery and so I chose to use the din66, it runs ok till now, can't feel the difference.

most of brand new contil cars came with Din72 battery originally , but this is unpopullar size locally so most owners settle with down size battery instead ..
