Hi all,
What is the mileage interval you change the ATF? Some people recommend every 20k km but Suzuki Swift service manual doesnt state so.
Please enlighten me. Thanks a lot!

Check your service manual. SCs usually change before due time. No harm in changing early, but do not delay! Most g/bs are cooked by delayed ATF change!

Thanks for your feedbacks, gentlemen.
Well, yes, my service manual is entirely in Japanese. so it is useless. I logged on the Suzuki Malaysia website, there's a table on Swift's maintenance. Quite surprisingly, it states "Auto Transmission Fluid (4L)
(every 80,000km)".
So, what do you think? Is 80k km interval too long? Please enlighten me. Some workshops recommended me to change it every 20k km, maybe they just want to earn more money from me? wink.gif

I`ve a CKD model and have the english version too. Yes it`s change at 80K. The Swift is a very well enginered car and 80K change should not be a problem. If it makes you feel better change earlier as you wish. I certainly will not change ATF at 20K, shear waste of money with this refined car!
I roughly do 30K km per year. I intend to change ATF once in two years, which means at 60K.

Interesting. My CBU service booklet has the ATF change at every 40k.

So you have an English version of the manual? Great. Besides that, does it have any other difference from the maintenance table provided on Suzuki Msia website?

The main difference is that the info is organized differently to the table on the Suzuki Malaysia website, which makes it time consuming to cross check the differences for you, sorry. Did you get yours from a grey importer, that's why you only have a manual in Japanese?

It's ok. smile.gif My car comes with only an user manuel in Japanese. No, the grey importer doesn't have the English version as well and they are not willing to source one for me. That's why i am looking for clues here.

Mine is for CBU 1.5, but the problem is that yours is a JDM 1.3 Swift. Not sure if the same service schedule applies, I mean there are already differences between CBU 1.5 and CKD 1.5 versions.

The dealer can't get an English version for your JDM 1.3 Swift, because it's for the Japanese Domestic Market, so the manual is only in Japanese. 1.3 Swifts are also built in India, and also Europe (Hungry I think), but not sure if they all have the same service schedules, or if there are differences for the different countries.
