my current piece is already 1yr n 2months old. so time to prepare for
changing again......
but my previous piece indeed gave me some symptoms b4 it went dead. when
i cranked the car, it did give slight abnormal reaction.
some forummer even claimed that their battery last less than a yr for the
previous S 40 model turbo edition (due to the extreme hot engine
compartment).
y didnt the volvo engineer place the battery in the boot like those
previous S80? to save cost? as longer wiring is needed....

I think u can easily get DIN 66 from outside shop, but ours are DIN 72,
dunno whether will cause any kind of side effect on the car?
moreover is it safe to replaced the battery by those outside foreman?
last time when my battery was replaced by volvo on call, i noticed the
guy need to do some setting in my car. anyone know what setting was it?

due to modern electronic gadgets on these car nowadays, they cant just
unhook the battery from the car..some gadgets might reset or memory lost...
so normally outsiders do is hook it up wit the another battery while
replaceing the new one for u^^

Since you car is monitored by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU), you may
change your battery from other battery shop and arrange one day go to any
authorized service centre for reset the memory on your control circuit
borad.
Have a nice day.

Good to know you can found the Din72 so cheap .. wanted where you found it ?
to replace the battery is just piece of cake by remove neogotive and positive connection and put in new ..then done nothing special..only make sure off your alarm, dont leave your key inside the car and keep driver side window down just incase the door lock by it self and also to make sure you know your HU security code's..to key in after the battery replace.
