Example.....Volvo V/S40 front brake pad in set cost rm110, rear brake pad in set cost rm90, front 280mm dia ventilated brake disc in pair cost rm400, rear 260mm dia solid brake disc in pair cost rm300.....so what the price for proton.. say waja ?

i guess you are referring to old v/s40 which share some common parts with waja/mitsubishi. the latest v/s40 parts are way more expensive.
anyway, ford is going to sell volvo to one of the chinese carmaker. the future of volvo is still gloomy.

even the current model S40, front or rear brake pad also costs less than 150/pair.

No ... all the price that i referring to are solely for Volvo parts only. if i were use waja/mitsubishi parts will even cheaper by another 30%.... but with turbo power on Volvo i will not compromisemy my safety with proton standard designed parts.

about ownership of Volvo by none swedish...is just matter of shares holding & finance support as the Volvo car management still in control in all aspect included the design and manufacturing that Volvo Car had decided to contract their china counterparts to produced Volvo parts for the new S40/V50 years back with swedish QC ...so quality of products is not an issue..so with China own Volvo hopefully the price of products will be more friendly to us if comapre the production cost in RMP$ compare to Euro$....

I am not refering to entry models like S40, let's look at costs of driveshafts on an XC90.
Especially if the vehicle is still under warranty, you just can't get the spare part from any part shop as this will void the warranty.

You have no choice but to fix it in FA or SM. And I dare anyone here to tell me its cheap.......

saying it as it is...

Volvo parts are not expensive. Always cheaper if u buy at Volvo sparepart shops. If cannot afford original, there are some reliable OEM brands. I bought all major parts direct at sparepart shops

The works are ok with you just bringing your parts from outside and then ask them to fix it for you ? Are they happy just charging you labour cost as they don't get to earn from the spares ? Cheers.

I never send my car to Federal Auto or Swedish Marque, i send to independence Volvo specialist, ex Federal Auto veterans.
They just charged for labours. FA & SM don't accept outside spareparts I guess

If you are just refer to higher spec volvo like XC90...Then Dont quoted "the Volvo spare are Expensive " as what your statement will misleading to those that not familiar with Volvo thought all Volvo models parts are out of reach......

Btw wonder if you can affort to brought Xc90 then the cost of driveshaft is expensive to you ? then you should go check out the X5 or ML driveshaft cost then...before you say Xc90 one are expensive...
