Saw this brand new but packing dated 2003 Disklok, listed RM499.00, the
seller willing to sell at RM450 after some nagging, is it a good buy? Does
it work well compared to other cheaper steering lock?

Any sifu have experince with this prod and wish to share your expertise?

Disklok is the best steering lock there is. Its worth that RM450 (same
price as mine) if you treasure your car. The only grouse I have is its
blardy hot if you remove it after parking your car under the scorching
sun for a couple of hours. Its impossible to steer with the Disklok on
and its impossible to hack the steering wheel since its full cover. Its
rated Thatcham 3 (out of 5) which is even better than the ever-popular
Cobra alarm-immobiliser thats only rated Thatcham 1.

thatcham level 3 is a category, not a rating. thatcham level 3 stand for
mechanical lock. it also include other lock like the famous stoplock.

yes, RM450 to protect the car, worth it.

when you travel oversea or leave the car for couple of weeks or days is
ok lah.

for daily use is not that practical. imagine someone stalking you and you
still need couple of mins to unlock the heavy steering lock before you
can start the car.

anyway choices is yours.

Not true. I disarm my Disklok and place it in the back in under 15
seconds all the time. And I'm speaking from an owner / user's viewpoint.

Mr toyyoda, need your help to answer 2 questions from a user perspective:

1. It takes roughly how long to "arm" it on steering wheel? Is it
troublesome or can cause scratch on the steering?

2. When left on car seat or car floor, does the Disklok rattling? Is the
noisy disturbing or not?

Thanks for helping, your answer may help me to part my RM450 or not.

firezy,

Normally, I place it at the footrest of back passenger seats. I'm driving
a Vios. If there are passengers at the back, then the front passenger can
just step on it (if its raining). Mine is a "Small" Silver. Disarming and
carrying it with one hand was never a problem for me.
