Hi Guys,
I drive a Vios, but just got my wifey a used CBU swift. I'm sending it in to my loyal pomen for a good service soon.
I just noticed a strange 'krak krak krak' noise when braking slowly. It doesn't happen when braking hard.
I actually asked the used car guy to fix but it's now back after a few days. Any ideas?
Also a new issue is there seems to be a violent shake from the aircon compressor after idling awhile in D. Less so in N.
I know its the compressor cos it don't happen when i turn off the AC. I
I'm guessing these problems are warped discs and AC Compressor clutch. Please share your expertise!
Many Thanks,
Dugong Driver

For brakes find out if it is front or rear. Go to a clear stretch of road and while the car is moving pull on the handbrake slowly (without stepping on brake pedal) while depressing the handbrake release button. If you hear the same sound then the rear brake is at fault. if not then it could be the front brake. If you feel the kick back on the brake pedal then you might have un-even brake disc. Ask your previous technician that service your brake for an explanation.
For your aircond, the symptom you discribed sound like aircond choke failure. I drive a Vios too, it have the same symptom, sometime it shake so violent that the engine stalled. Send it to UMW and they said need to replace throttle body at extremely expensive. So I send to aircond specialist and they did a complete cleaning and servicing on the throttle body and now my Vios is ok. I suggest you send it in to Suzuki sc and see what they say. Remember to ask them for explanation. If they said need to replace throttle body then I suggest you goto aircond specialist and get a 2nd opinion and decide for yourself from there on.
Cheers.
