that's why always here in AW lor.... yesterday just back from ipoh I see people also starting to off when I go to makan makan in a small town restaurant - see many people already back to wait for the CNY,

Recommended good food (non-halal) corner shop restaurant!!!! in Temoh Perak (opposite the Sheel station corner shop), Fully packed!!! Have to wait 1 hr for food!!!! Crazy but I waited and enjoy the foods! So Good and Cheap!!!!!!!!
4 people - 7 dishes consisting of wild catch (sharp head type - not the ordinary haruan!!!!) haruan fish, wild catch frog, wild baku vege, pork meat, ori pati soup, kangkong vege, tafu + fruit juice, 2 big bottle of beer & 1 pack of cigarette at only Rm 130 - change back $4.00 back - where can find in KL????? with not farmed but wild catch fish and frogs!!!!
consider half off for new year - nothing much to do with other people off so I follow lor...

Hope a lot of people back by Sat. Probably got to travel middle of the night to avoid jam. Cannot tahan stand still or snail speed on the highway.

Ipoh food still graded the best in the country in terms of variety, cost and quality. Tried a few so far no regrets. Issue is need more kang tau to know where the best ones compares with generally good ones. But CNY go makan in small towns sometimes worst than KL, no place to sit, price increase, quality drop etc.

smile_tongue.gif smile_tongue.gif smile_tongue.gif ... talk about makan hungry liau. Which part of Sungkai? Towards Bidor or Slim River. Sungkai town main road or out side town.

Travel to Teluk Intan quite often these days. Plenty of fresh and cheap seafood. 3 pax 3 dishes with fresh grouper in aircon restaurant also around $50. Small town restaurants generally dare not simply slaughter as they targeting regular customers. Not like KV. Plenty of water fishes to slaughter. smile_blackeye.gif

Ya AW should have makan topic so can RR at best makan spots off the highways during jam biggrin.gif.

Talking about Grik, my old man used to consume so many soon hocks in the 80-90' as travelled there every month for business till the restaurant owner when moved to Ipoh still recognised them on the street biggrin.gif. Understand so many variety of river fishes those days.

Nowadays guess not so good already. Even formal MCA leader OKT kampung Lenggong still have resonable nice sai tow fish ball shop but price cut throat and portion small.

If going East Coast stop by stretch along Pahang river, Temerloh-Bera-Triang. Still can find plenty of river fishes. Even those breed along river side - pak sok kong, tilapia, patin, trust me cheap and great. 1kg ~ $10-15. Bring an ice box and bring back to cook. Quality same or better than those 'wild' river fish restaurant in PJ. You be back again. smile_thumbup.gif smile_tongue.gif

No worries, cage ones. Even those claimed to be wild in PJ, not surprise from the cage besides rivers. How many can tell? smile_approve.gif
