Spare parts are made in Thailand, not sure Nasa will even bring in bulk parts since they let things go by themselves.

SURELY !!! They will NOT bring in, I propose if anyone want to buy a Colorado, get them to guaranteed or better still sign a letter to confirm that spares are confirmed to be available and will be made available failing so they will compensate for the lost of use for the car after 1 week , 2 week or 3 week???? Especially during warranty period, spares maybe available from out source but under warranty, we cannot buy and put into our car, 1st void warranty and also why must we buy and paid for it under warranty.

For some critical and also non critical parts that was claimed under warranty, I have been waiting for 1 - 2 years!!!!! car still running but dangerously risky!!! Now after warranty - still waiting ???? ever arrived - Gods know, maybe never or by the time arrived the company already no more to be found or not more the franchise holder of the car. This we have to go all the way back to GM but they dont care!!! GM have failed many times in Malaysia and this may be thier last final round and out they go off from Malaysia Market!!! forever?

So buyer - Seller to agreed, if buyer like this car and Seller are sincere and confident in providing service and spares - have a letter to confirm!!!! Do you think they dare to assured buyers on this balance 2S matter???

maybe also worth mentioning that they fancy void warranty if you mod or install items. my brother install the DVD on Ria cheaper and better but they insisted that had voided the warranty. I own a 4wd pickup and can't imagine if any owner maintain them strictly as stock (other than those use them as commercial purpose) and maybe adding hardtop canopy voiding warranty?

Hi br1,
My Forte alignment out, SC also charged me extra if I requested them to correct the alignment while under warranty. I just sent to tyre shop outside and get it done at half the price. Did you check the price of spare part supplier outside for the same part? What part did you try to claim from them. They offer you free or try to sell you at cut throat price?

The way I do things, confirm the car bought is not lemon first and then get things fixed elsewhere. No need to send to SC if not up to expectation. Waste money and time with long que. However, the sub-franchised SC no people, no need to que so I send there.

Best thing for Chevy to survive is to get NASA to outsource. Or get technicians to be the management staff, with veto authority on Finance, problem solved. Not just Chevy, other car companies too. Should appreciate the technical more than sales & marketing that are pretty useless to the company.

Hi AC19,
Whatever you do outside, just don't let them know to prevent warranty void. Touch only parts that they'll rarely know and no one will notice. DVD or GPS sure cannot, too evident.

... but having to installl a DVD, would presume that could effect related warranty such as wiring and/or electrical components but what is that got to do with engine, suspension etc. To make things worst, they also sourced from 3rd party by sticking their own label but priced them exorbitantly. It sounds like when you by a smart phone, it voids the warranty because you pasted a screen protector. So if the market sells the same screen protector say for MYR30, then the manufacturer insist consumer pays MYR120 for the same thing otherwise the warranty for fancy smartphone cost you MYR2-3K will go into the drain.

So, why do we have such arrogant dealer? I guess the answer is obvious.....

Hi AC19,

Wiring is actually the most sensitive part and messing with wrong cable could cause fuse burnout and even overcharging certain components. Changing the radio player for example, if the car has steering control buttons, it'll disable the function as some radio players are not compatible.

Also, those gadget shops that sells the player, DVD, hi-fi system, GPS, etc. Those staff that fit the gadgets onto your vehicle could comprised of untrained trial & error or barely trained unqualified electrician/technician without technical background. Some who modified their cars I met at Bukit Jalil tuned cars motorshow equivalent, some of the wiring they did were really messy, could see them tapping wire from battery from certain addon splitter, etc to whatever gadgets they installed. Things could easily go wrong there like triggering short circuit, additional current to certain component causing burning smell, etc.

Wiring is the least thing you would want to mess with. It'll cause bigger problem than a worn out engine or gearbox that will not be easily solved. Car companies have the capability to fit the aftermarket gadgets for you but they chose not to to prevent trouble in case things gone wrong. The accessories they sold, though overpriced but they had certified with engineers from carmaker first that these gadgets are safe and compatible before they install.

Any feedback on this Triton VGT?

Don't think many willing to fork out over RM105k for a 2.5L VGT pickup with pulling power of only 350Nm nowadays. Roughly calculated, the VGT turbocharger, the most is just RM3k more expensive than a normal turbocharger. Triton 2.5 normal turbo at RM95k before discount, the VGT 2.5L cost RM105k, that is RM10k difference. Due to existing and coming soon competitors that generated greater pulling power costs less than that. The underpowered Hilux 3.0 VGT too didn't sell well.

Ranger 2.2 with 370Nm RM98k, 3.2L with 470Nm at RM110k
Colorado 2.5 (M) 350Nm at RM90k, 2.8 (M) with 440Nm at RM95k, 2.8 (A) with 470Nm at RM105k
coming soon D-Max 2.5 & 3.0 (A) share tech with GM also around that price

The Triton 2.5 VGT, they'll have to lower to RM98k to survive. Else, no 1 would go for it. 350Nm with VGT is already dated for today's tech. I do love the Triton but think MMC is playing with fire over the pricing. Navara 2.5 (A) 4x4 at RM105k also difficult to sell, have to reduced to 4x2 Caliber variant at RM90k to compete.
