You call this 'extreme' ?

Instead of having all these nonsense contests following the trend from
overseas, since the event is held at the Bangsar Shopping Complex, the
final round should have the last few contestants to go the carpark to
collect the FREE car at late nite.

Sigh ..... please lah, be more creative and constructive !

And the 'theme' for their TV advertisement is 'respect', showing all cars
reversing to give way to this new Range Auto. Dead Bad taste i would say,
it's more like a road bully than anything else, somemore the driver was
revving the engine before moving away ....

I'm not anti-Ford, but this latest development has not improve its image
at all.

ST Tee,

some people got the positive message, some just don't understand!

Though I don't own Ranger, and no plan to own it, but I found the 1st ad
("BEHAVE") & 2nd ad (Banana skin) are alright & bring strong message..
BEHAVE & RESPECT, the "King" is coming. I haven't seen latest Ranger ad (if
there is?) but the last 2 were just great idea.

Have you watched Kembara DVVT ad? To me, that is the worst ad I ever seen,
b'coz it gave impression that DVVT is some kind of disease to be avoided &
the owner feel no confident to have it. If I would a person doesn't know
anything about DVVT, I would tough that DVVT is something like AIDS or SARS!!!

Ah Tee ar, you work for the Ad Agency ka Question or were you one of the guys
who were at the Focus Group who got a glimpse of the Ranger Ads Question I
think they have air'ed only the mamak stall and the banana skin one
lar ... have they air'ed the other two Question

ashabmy ... i think perodua ad agency is doing a good job. a car is a car
and if you don't have much to market (nothing unique or very advance),
then have some fun with it. at least make people laugh and enjoy the ads,
that way they will remember it. agree that the DVVT disease thing can be
a put off but sure beats the Ranger Automatic Ad and definitely beats the
Honda City (thum, thum, thum, thum, thum) Ad.

Finally I watched the ad last night.

To me, it is a good ad, NOT bullying anyone!
The other cars were just making way for the Ranger Auto, and the Ranger
driver didn't even gave headlight on or honk the other drivers to move!!!!
The other drivers were simply suprised to see new Ranger & straight away
they reversed & make way for Ranger Auto................ that is really
straight to the point, "RESPECT", "King" is here!!!!!!

ST Tee..... I think you are not suitable to work in ad company. Creativity
is prime requirement in the ad industry now!

There will always be people who love an ad and others who hate it.
Everyone has a different view and perception, so no need to argue over
it. As for the ad agencies, their aim is to make an ad memorable and
noticed, so if people talk about it, that is success to them. Of course,
if the memory is excessively negative, then it is also not good.

I think the Ford ads have a very negative image of Ford drivers. It shows
that Ford Ranger Automatic drivers have no courtesy on the road, if any
normal respectable citizen would have just backed off a few metres to allow
about 10 cars to go through instead of insisting on being respected.

Agree with CHIPS that some will like it and some will not but also agree
that in this case it is "the memory is excessively negative, then it is
also not good". Furthermore, would one want to be associated with being a
Ford Ranger Automatic driver who is a bully, uncourteous and just plain
simply ignorant and aggorant Question

Agree that being in an Ad Agency needs creativity but more importantly, you
will also need to know what is the message that you want to put across and
be sensitive to your environment/surroundings (think global act local).
Being creative without knowing the objective definitely a boo boo.

Just my silly RM0.02 worth of comments ... Big Smile

Well, that was just my opinion. It's up to the public to relate the
storyline. No doubt there are always 2 side of different opinion, but then
it's important that whether which side shows stronger feedback.

But anyhow, it's all about being different, taking the risks for
such 'bet', i think we have enough road bullies on the loose, just
hopefully that such ads won't end up like the other one which the company
had to be asked to apologies for being insensitive.

Cheers ! All the best !

Ah Tee,

I think if you look at the ad properly, the Ranger had nowhere to go. Got
car illegal parking on both sides of the road, and the Ranger need to get
out, cos the road is Jalan Mati (see the apartments behind?).

Other cars want to go in, must respek and let the guy out first laa!!
