Yesterday morning, some black Honda (WPC 2848) kissed my car's rear. Bloody hell. Came down but, thankfully, no dents or scratches! It is very strange that people absolutely love my car's backside. All accidents happen at my car rear and slow speeds. No sudden stops involved at all.

Some years ago, I stopped at a traffic lights for a full 3 seconds before one taxi banged my car's rear. Taxi man said, "Sori, lah, mengantuk".

Another time, there was a shallow flood on the road, all cars were moving slowly, including me...then banged! Again, at the rear. I drove to a petrol station, hoping to settle there, but car sped off! I gave chase like Fast & Furious (in flood waters!) and managed to stop driver about 500 m ahead. Malay lady said, "Sebenarnya saya nak U-turn ... nak balik jumpa you." Yeah, right. The lady knew some traffic police officer, and he tried to give me the rundown at the traffic police station during my report, but I refused to give in. At the end, lady was summoned (but she received special discount smile_angry.gif ). She went off, smiling as though she received free police coupons to bang a few more cars.

Another time, traffic jam, all cars moving slowly, and, well you guess it, banged! Again at my car rear. Chinese man got down and said, "Aiyo, what to do, ah?" Made police report at the end, but when he saw my police report, he commented that I am trying to make money by listing down so many damages. Otak udang.

The last accident was some Iranian hit my back because I stopped at the traffic light. He thought I was going to beat it, so he might as well do the same. Well, I didn't want to beat the traffic light, and...banged!

Then yesterday's incident. Fortunately, this time, no harm done. Phew.

Now my question: what should I do to stop people kissing my backside? Should I install a fourth brake light? Would putting psychological stickers on my car rear/bumper work? Stickers like "STOP! Watch your distance!" or "You Are Too Close!"?

Or perhaps:

which we can get at IPmart.

Chris

actually you are not the only one that always kena bang in the rear...i noticed your car is black and my previous car was also black and had the same predicament...kena bang from the back without any sudden braking etc etc..even at traffic light can suddenly kena bang...somehow, i feel that it's the car being black that makes drivers not aware of the car...got one time, i kena bang from the rear at night while stopped at the traffic light..the lady came down and said that she wasn't aware i was there, and my 3 braking lights were bright and working!i was stepping on the brakes at that time...Now i have changed car to white one and so far so good*touch wood*...i believe bright color cars such as white, yellow etc will make your car more "visible" on the road

smile_big.gif Actually that photo is not my car. I took that photo from the net to show about the 'interesting' emotion light (looks like third brake light).

But I agree with you that black cars tend to be accident prone. Many years ago, I read an interesting report (from a newspaper, I think) that black cars have the highest accident rate compared to other colours. Especially at night, people tend not to notice black cars or notice them later compared to other colours.

It is for this reason that I don't have a black car.

Forgot to say it was late evening already...... smile_tongue.gif
More over you don't expect the mechanic's car to be so shiny and reflective. More covered with finger prints and some engine oil.... smile_tongue.gif

I noticed many people do not tailgate lorries or tow-trucks. Also I noticed a few cars have imported tow bars at the back.

Yeah, that one stone that can kill u. Its more dangerous if your route is near estate ad the lorris over htere always throw surprises at you. I drove my sis kenari once and got one stone from opposite lane lorry smack the windscreen. Minor crack. Then my BLM oso from opposite lane lorry, oso minor scratch.

4x4 oso dangerous as i experience b4. I was driving the Neo and cruising at 100kmh and this LO Pajero felt i was challenging him so of we go taking bend that only a properly handling car can negotiate at 100kmh. I was surprise to see the Pajero actually taking a sharp bend at that speed, from behind i can see he is gambling as the Pajero is beyong its limit. Then comes one super sharp left hander and he cuts the corner on a gravel, his rear gave way and his front threw a fist size stone at me.
I slammed the brake and move right a little, lucky the stone just made it above me. Skid mark are still there and i kept smiling everyday when i sees it.

Exactly the same I experienced when I bought a black Proton. It was my first black car, thought being black it would not look dirty so fast smile_approve.gif

But after being bang from the back TWICE in 3 months I had enough. In all instances there was no sudden braking and all my brake lights functioning well.

Now car sold and I drive a blue car now. 9 months so far no bang smile_big.gif
