From the pictures, nothing really surprised me. Not much changes done on this camry internal and external. The design looks like a retrofit current camry. But i am pretty sure the price will not be cheaper or equal than the current version camry on the road.

Camry 2012 has been launched in China on 8 November 2011. The power trains are as follows:

Camry 2.0: 1AZ-FE VVTi 4-cylinders in-line (same as current model) on 4 speed auto

109KW, 192Nm (current model: 108KW, 190Nm)

Camry 2.5: 5AR-FE Dual VVTi 4-cylinders in-line on 6 speed auto

135KW, 235Nm (Current 2.4 model: 123KW, 224Nm)

It seems like Bolehland will have the same spec.

New Camry 2.0 (XV50) still using same old 1AZ-FE engine (not even Dual VVTi) and 4-speed transmission. KNS. Very disappointed.

The "BLACK COLOURED & BASIC" 2012 Camry already in Malaysia for MALAYSIANISATION process. Tightly under wrap and heavy security.
For "HIGH SPEC MODEL" please expect ALL the Gadgets & Features presently in Malaysian TEANA + SONATA + ACCORD + PASSAT.
Quite an impressive list of items coming from a conservative Camry. May be UMW Toyota wants to make a statement since "winning back" the Camry. Celebrated by the select few in Shah Alam. We may get some glimpse before Jan 2012. Words flying around, soft media preview before that.

Looks slightly more boxy on the side, some angle looks like enlarged Altis. Best thing would be its fuel saving new dual VVTi engine that will come in 2.0L and 2.5L. The 2.0L dual VVTi engine will be the same engine fitted in Altis 2.0 except with the limiter removed, generating 194Nm of torque vs existing 190Nm. The 2.5L dual VVti engine will be the one used in the facelifted 2009 Camry that we didn't get in our local facelift version. Nice!!

In terms of looks, interior is much improved with Altis 2.0V style steering wheel. Exterior wise, the Japan spec Camry:
- the headlamp looks like Lexus LS
- grille has Altis style design
- A, B & C pillar resembles old Merc S-Class W140
- rear lights resemble the last Mazda 626 '98 sold in Singapore

The US spec Camry exterior, the front looks like Forte headlamp + Altis grille and sometimes resemble Subaru Impreza. The rear lights look little like combined Accord + City style rear lights.
