The Ford Fiesta would probably kick it's ugly ass so bad it is not going to be pretty. laugh.gif

bro,

cool lah. you may not like the 207 but whatever it is, and however it looks, it is still a peugeot and not even a naza branded one. it is peugeot true and true from the front to the rear. do give it a break as these comments may only stop those entry level peugeot fans from coming into the brand. do note that this model is to cater to a different income segment and offer an alternative to those seeking for an entry level european sedan or a smallish peugeot sedan. the last small peugeot sedan was the 306 and it sold pretty well too. oklah, it also looked pretty good too but may i suggest having a look at the real thing first before we fix our opinion on it's looks?

understandably, it is no 308 vti or turbo or 407 but fact is, it is designed as an entry level peugeot so that in years to come, those owners can upgrade to the 308 or whatever higher end model that peugeot has later on. looking at it positively, it is a plan to have a wider peugeot owner base so that there will be future owners of future higher end models.

i hope it does well. pricing will be the main factor. but, imho, the fiesta sedan is no supermodel either.

You are right but its not so much in the looks department.
The Fiesta has a 6 Speed DSG and ESP which would clearly put it ahead of the 207.
I would not however expect the 207 to be priced in the 80K range.

well, owners or rather, would-be owners can start to look for lowering springs for the front to bring the whole car down a little. i think if it is lowered a little, it'll do a world of good to how the car looks. of course, bigger wheels complete the transformation nicely.

true, the car would look better with 16 inch wheels......... smile_thumbup.gif

still prefer 206's interior and looks

AFAIK, the interrior is of 206's
Afterall, this is actually a 206 Sedan body/chassis with the front look of 207.

Naza all set for new Peugeot 207 launch

NAZA Group says all systems are "go" for the launch of the first ever Asean-hub Peugeot model, the new 207, next month.

"It is a first step towards an increased Peugeot presence in Asean, using Malaysia as its base," Naza group joint executive chairman SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin said in a statement yesterday.

PSA Group's support, Nasarudin added, was a sign of determination to further improve the efficiency of its global production system.

Manufactured by Naza Automotive Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Gurun, Kedah, the 207 is positioned as an easily attainable European model.

Some 5,000 units of the 1.6-litre sedan are expected to be produced to meet domestic and regional market demand annually.

Nasarudin said the visit of PSA Group chief executive officer of Asian operations Gregoire Olivier was a testament of the French carmaker's support and confidence in Naza's manufacturing quality.

Its good to read that Peugeot have confidence in Nasim, hopefully Peugeot will translate that confidence in giving even more support to Nasim in terms of aftercare service that they themselves can give.
As for the car itself, its not bad you know when you consider it's aim is to be a low cost entry into the Peugeot brand of vehicles. Its specification is better than some currently on the market.

The way to combat obnoxious ideas is with other ideas. The way to combat falsehoods is with truth.

Yup, it's different segment/category which also can mean targeting different category of buyers; As the 206 itself, it's specification is already better than some currently in the market, even now; but then, not everyone is into the specifications or features, many of the entry level buyer is more concern about the pricing "usually", while some they might start to discover the "nice to have" features and probably starts appreciating it, just as what happen to previous 206 owners.

Anyway, I think this is a good news for the public, more options, more competition and also a chance to experience Peugeot cars at affordable price/value for money with great specifications.
I received generally well respond from many people which I spread this news; Putting an estimation of below RM75K mark with the specifications, the "general" respond from non-conti owners are "are you sure ONLY RM75K???"
But, all in all, the main concern is still on the after-sales services and support, plus, if 207 Sedan is launched, will the Service Centre enough to cope with the volume? There's many 308 and 3008 still on the way.
