Driving Sentra now and thinking to change to either Sylphy 2.0 or Civic 1.8 as they are same price range.

I suggest you wait next year to check on the new coming soon cars, more options for you to choose from. Don't regret later as more and more cars pending for launch next year.

Yup. Agree with Jayraptor. You'd be spoilt for choices.

There will always be new launches whether it's this year, next year, next two years .........etc. Even now, you will also be spoilt of choices and new launches not necessarily better. In short, buy when necessary.

Unfortunately, (at least for my case) the actual selling price for Sylphy (eg. base model), is quite a distance from Civic 1.8A.
I got the Sylphy for somewhere around 105K (before the price hike), vs Civic 1.8A of 114K (oh...500bucks discount is darn great ! ). Oh yeah, again at least for my case, I got the 1.99% rate vs the Honda 3.* %
Savings, and more savings.

Yah Slyphy is cheaper on the long run as the price is discounted and lots of free gifts like V-cool, Half-leather seats, full bodied aerokits etc and the low interest. (1.99 - 3.1% - 1 to 7 yrs)..also fuel is much cheaper due to the lighter alum engine and CVT transmission (I sound like an advert ). If you trade up later, still do not lose out much cos you pay less interest and down payment besides lower running costs.
If you want to run with the sheep then go for Civic, cant go wrong. However, the last I checked, there's no reduction in bank interest, u'll need to pay 3.75%. So if you trade up in 5-7 years, u'll lose more money than the Slyphy plus u'll be driving a 1.8 engine car which is due for a new makeover in 2011.
