Since Hyundai Malaysia is too busy doing sales and doesn't care much in giving info to owners regarding their product service schedule and fees, have to go down to Singapore (Komoco) seeking this.

These are the recommendation parts that need to be changed and serviced...
As owners, we can ignore any parts change to save money...
It's always a matter of choice...

SC won't say, if you don't change this or that, your warranty will void or something like that...
Only owners will suffer if the said parts that need service doesn't work as efficient as recommended...
My 2 cents...

Hi guys, the air con filter is very easy to DIY to replace it every 10-15K KM, I did for many times, the Kah Bintang store in Jalan 223 is only selling RM 120. The location of the air filter is behind the glove box, there are 2 pieces of air filters.

The Hyundai Club Malaysia does help the members to group buy the air filters from Singapore at much lower price.
Any of you who go to Sgp can buy in bulk for many pieces and spare for few years to save mantenance cost.

My Avante is near to 70,000KM now, i never spent so much money as the above mantenance fees.
The CVVT engine is still as smooth and powerful as day 1, dun feel any degradation in performance.

I have been using the Iridium spark plug (RM150 only) since 10,000KM mileage, till now still very good, very long lasting. Maybewill only change the plugs at 90,000KM mileage.

After my Avante exceeds 100,000KM, warranty will be expired, i think will still continue to go to Kah Bintang for car service.
I feel that their charges are reasonable, even i go outside, dun think i can save much.
Also Kah Bintang is charging the oil filter at RM 14.5 only.

Does this mean KB 223 give cheaper service price and parts..?
Need to check-out later for verification...

not that sure, not only Kah Bintang Jln 223, the Kah Bintang Jln Ipoh has standard charges with other Kah Bintang SC...
I think it could be due to discounts given by this dealer...

Kah Bintang for Hyundai and Kah Motor for Honda, both are under the same parent Boon Siew, but Kah Bintang has cheaper parts and service charges than Kah Motor, not sure if it is due to Honda is more expensive than Hyundai in everything...haha

Not sure if they have standard rate across the nation, but for Kah Bintang in Sg Pinang (Penang), their labour charge is only RM10 for regular service (every 20k is major service, others are regular service).

I also find that Kah Bintang charges are reasonable, and plan to continue sending my Sonata NF to Kah Bintang for services after the warranty expires. However I'll follow the "original" schedule as determined by Hyundai Corporation, not the schedule from Kah Bintang/Sime Darby (eg 40k auto-tranny oil change, 10k service interval vs 20k auto-tranny change and 5k service interval).

Taken from previous post...
Avante servicing...

10,000Km, 50,000Km, 70,000km or (6th., 30th., 42th. Month)
Engine Oil = RM99.00
Oil Filter = RM18.00
Gasket - Oil Ring = RM2.38
-----
Parts Cost = RM119.38
Labour: RM70.00

The real thing...
Did the 10,000km service at SD Hyundai yesterday...
Engine Oil: RM99.00 (Shell-Helix Plus)
Filter: RM16.65
Labor charge: RM70.00
...
Sub-total: RM185.65
5% Service Tax: RM3.50
...
Total paid: RM189.15
---

Beside that...
1) Adjust head-light beam a bit higher (because seen to be too low, can't see much on speeds at night especially at highway)
2) Rotate tires (1st. time)
3) Rattling issues (after change BCM)

All and all, everything is fine, except the annoying rattling issues still was not solved... smile_disapprove.gif
Wishing, not to make the same mistake previously by 11th. time visiting SC to solve my previous "flickering/ blinking dashboard lights" issue...
