Now ETCM selling the latest CBU E52 third-generation Elgrand, one generation newer than those on the road. The Elgrand is powered by Nissan’s VQ35DE 3.5-litre V6 engine making 280 PS and 344 Nm of torque and priced MYR398,342 OTR including insurance. Worth considering?

One mid-size mpv that can have decent cargo space while all 7 seats in use is toyota ipsum. Too bad that it only available as recond (same like estima, alphard etc.) here in bolehland. Dealers only bring in 2400cc recond although 2000cc variant is available out there e.g. Toyota picnic in singaland. Decent cargo space because it has underneath compartment at the back that can fit 3-4 luggage bags inside. Plus, equipped with aircond blowers at every row.
Here in boleland, it can be categorized as 1 class above wish and 1 class lower than estima. But if not mistaken, no longer in production by toyota (being replaced by mark x zio?). I think last batch of recond is year 2006. Mine is year 2004 and i have no regret of owning it for the last 4 years. Servicing is not a problem as it shares the same engine as estima, harrier etc. Just did a regular service up north in perlis 2 days ago with no problem on finding parts.
Now i'm hunting for a new mpv that can meet my ipsum criteria but cant seem to find one except for those expensive nearly rm200k mpv like mazda8 or ford smax. The closest match is mitsu grandis but it doesnt have underneath luggage compartment. Of course those mini mpv options like livina, wish, stream, 5008, mazda5 etc. wont serve me well in terms of cargo and seats compromized.
Maybe need to hunt the recond market again like estima etc. But my advise when buying recond car is to really inspect the car condition, engine etc. as it has many greds. Try to get the grad a car by hunting a lot of dealers like i did. Dont be cheated by their physical look and mileage as it has been make good by all dealers. I really wish we have more options of brand new mpv here in bolehland :sigh:
