Yes, another scam by G spot to squeeze the rakyat and to encourage people to buy new car...
This high premium is for old car more that 15 years.
Another Project from Barang Naik.

Why oppose a good idea ?

old bangers like yours are dangerous and shouldn't be on the roads, when cause accident to expensive car insurance company has to pay, so they don't like it, plus these old cars not subject to any safety inspection! You want to risk your life driving beat up old Saga, which was unsafe even when new, but don't threaten others with unsafe vehicles...that's how "Satu Malaysia" works! Towards a developed nation!

Safety is quite a relative subject. Old car doesn't mean it is totally unsafe. A neglected & lack of maintenance of new cars are even worst than a properly maintained, old junk.

Drive safely. TQ.

Quoted for the truth. In fact, the main thing that old cars cause on roads is slowing down traffic, either through breakdowns or the fact that since the car is old, the owner won't drive it fast, which may be a good thing in certain circumstances.

I see many modified cars running around on used Japanese tyres with less than 40% tread. These tyres are unreliable for we don't know their history or how long they have been on a ship before arriving here. Blowouts aren't uncommon.

Some supposedly "rich" ppl driving expensive cars with 18" or larger rims, sometimes end up using their tyres until there's no tread left. These cars are very dangerous too, especially in our unpredictable weather.

In summary, it's not wise to put a blanket statement and blame ppl driving old cars. If you are well off, good for you. But don't put down ppl who either drive an old car as a matter of choice or predicament. It's unwise, and highly immature.
There are no lousy cars. Only better cars.

Latest accidents all involve new cars......Not due to car problems, but driver's mistakes....... smile_shock.gif

Totally agree with you.

My old banger top speed 80 to 85km, average speed 75km/h when cruising. Regardless, of the age and the car we drive as long as we maintain it properly it should not be a problem to others.
Have wheels will ride, beats walking.
