i dont think for this moment they can do it since it is a rush job, maybe after 2-3 year then possible... engine mounting not an easy job, somemore want to mate with cvt gb...

may be after launch rexona CFE + CVT n proven reliability... then launch walanlution 10 ... i guess only ...

abang big small eye, check more on automotive info.... unker zainal got stated in press conference saying that walan price will be higher than current junk and it is waja replacement model.

Well, they did not mention in the official website, I am considering the news remain rumors or talking only. Everything can annouce in conference even in front of PM but can be end up finally tak jadi one , see VW case is very good example. Don't say I won't trust Proton, because they create VW case example already.

I'm actually quite certain that it might be priced at RM75k for the lowest spec because it will definitely has to be more expensive than the Exora.

Eitherway, i would be disappointed that if Proton decided not to have the CPS in the new Waja. I mean, they spent so long developing the CPS and Waja is one of their most popular cars and if in the event the new Waja sells like hotcakes which they will eventually and it is running on Mitsu's engine then i think Proton has just made the worst investments of all time.

The Lancer has been around for quite sometime and was previously seen doing some test runs on the streets, this is a sign that Proton are indeed doing some "tunings" themselves, gearbox ratios, torque etc etc.

But then again, i am sure soon after the release of this Waja. We will have a lot of Evolution 10s with superbly glaring HID headlights

Unfortunately, Proton unable to develop the CPS up to 1.8L to 2.4L, even they have but worst FC. Well it look like go back to Wira time because as you know Wira are the lancer model as well, but it is good sign to show that many ppl will come back proton car also instead of they push hard sell in here.

RM75k for low spec is reasonable and look like they want to fight Forte. However, let see how's their spec definition, if they still follow Persona strategy, i.e. low spec is kosong spec then not point to spend RM75k buy this Waja but buy Forte better.
No point spend money buy only "Mivec" engine. However, I believe essential C segment car should have at least two air bag, ABS and so on. No VSC or traction control is OK, no paddle shift should be acceptable.

Somethings never change.

The RM75k is going to be, i think without airbags, probably no bodykits, no rims but with plastic rim covers, no to mention WITHOUT foglamps as well cause other than that, i really don't know how they are going to distinguish between the high and low specs.

Even Honda uses such strategy and Proton is definitely going to exploit the people with it the new Waja. RM75k and getting a mocked up "Lancer". Probably spent in about less than RM2k and you'll freaking have a "Mitsubishi Lancer" without the leather seats but many here in Malaysia don't really like leather seats.

In fact i think there's not too much of a problem with that. I heard people complaining about the necessity of airbags in car. To be honest, i don't find it really essential unless you are accident prone. Having a airbag is like having an insurance policy, you pay for it but you'll never use it.

Whatever it is, i'd really like to see them putting the CPS 1.6 in that Lancer. At the very least, there's something Malaysian in that bugger.

I quite feel surprise you say airbags are not necessary unless you are accident prone. Well, I would say, when you face accident you will know the useful of airbags, however, if your car without airbag, you better wish your god to save you otherwise wish god bring you to peaceful place. Sorry I say like this because many ppl don't know what is safety mean, when the accident happen just regret but too late, you can regret only when you are in hell.

And many of you really dunno what is accident mean? It mean an event you never know, it always happen when you never know what is going wrong. Unless you are the god or you can predict something happen, then you can tell me you not need airbags or ABS because you know how to prevent thing happen. Even prediction also cannot prevent something happen to him, how about a careful driver like us? This is why many cars install air bag or ABS, yes, it still cannot prevent you have major injure or save your life but to the minimum reduce your risk, am I right? Just like hand phone video call may not necessary to you but sometime it can help you to solve a problem also.

So if RM75k a basic spec without airbags, ABS, I don;t see any point need to spend this money to buy a lancer waja. What for spend a lot of money just want a engine but not a safety and good car? Then we better looking for Vios, City , Mazda or Hyundai Avante? Vios or City CKD but still they originally from Toyota and Honda, Hyundai and Mazda most are CBU car.

If Proton decide to use Lancer as their replacement or create another model, that's fine. However, to the minimum, all using original parts from Mitshubishi, then CKD here and replace as Proton badge. This is what exactly Naza do for Forte now, the reason you can buy Forte because all the parts originally imported from Korea and Naza basically just assembly and install it, it just a logo different only.

If Proton just want an engine and platform, other parts still from local make one. It just like come back Wira time which is a "lancer heart but local body". So you guys is not actually driving the lancer but Wira. You may see the similar face in Japan but believe me, the quality is totally different than your wira. That's the reason why I disagree Proton use the Lancer advantages to replace waja. But I am OK if Proton decide to re badge a lancer and use all original parts from Mitsubishi, Proton can justify this car same like Naza making Forte one, just a rebadge, not changing anything and assuming the Lancer is CKD here. Otherwise, no point to spend this money buy the " Not real" Lancer.
