While waiting for the TS to answer, I would guess that, as with most polishers, it *should* come with the OEM 6"/180mm size backing plate (except for the newer Flexes' polishers). Not to worry though, standard thread size *should* either be M16 or M14 and you can find plenty of sources for backing plates of various sizes locally. I've even seen quite a few local auto refinishing suppliers' places selling them (although not branded ones).

Compatible....yes. Suitable....not so much as the 2.0 size is a bit on the large side. Best is if you can find the 5.5" or 5.25" pad by Lake Country or others.
To me, Large size pads only good for flat large areas.....

and it cut faster right ? so what is consider an ideal size ? we have 2,3,4, all the way to 8"

Depends on the user. Some uses 8" for large flat panel, 5 & 6 for smaller and curve areas, the smallest for hard to reach and very small areas and so on.....
I do ROB most of the time so mine are 5.25.....

lastly bought mine yesterday & try it out 2day
really a bit quik starting at 100rpm 2 spread wax but yet still a good polisher
powerful enough 2 do all cutting action
i try out my megs paint recondition cream (D151)...GOOD RESULT!!!
recommend for those who want a budget polisher
will get my megs or lake country pad next mth
