guys, how long do you use your absorbers until they are gone? well,
righ about now, my absorbers, all 4 especially the fronts are gone.
and i mean gone as in you can ask your child to even press em
down. and thing is, i bought all 4 pretty much brand new on the
12.03.2003, yup that was like 5 months back. and knowing me, that
my car was in the workshop lying there due to overhauls for 1 and
half months. so, back to back, i only use the abosrbers for like 3 and
half months. is this possible? this is so rudiculous as all of us can
see it. it's magnetti marelli and it was brand new when i got it. not too
sure whether i have been cheated by the workshop or not, but this
simply cannot be true.

all this happened when i thought my springs already sagging since
when it hit bumps, it'll scrap the donuts. so, i went to simon and
bought novitec springs. during installation, one of the boys told me
my absorbers are gone, and i laughed at him because they can be
considered new. but not until i saw him pressing down the shaft,
without facing much trouble. macam air saja turun babe. i went crazy
after that knowing that it's the gone absorbers that made my car like
that. it is simply rudiculous babes, knowing that i only used the car on
the road after changing the absorbers for like less than 4 months. if
like that, then everybody will also would change every 4 months?

so, i went back to the garage, and asked what's going on? i brought
both fronts, and another which belongs to my cousin. ask him to
press brian's without him knowing that it's brian's, then he said,
nothing is wrong and it's still good. then only i took out mine, so,
when he pressed em, much to his surprised and speechlessness it
went down like water. no explaination needed, and i demanded to
know the truth whether they had mine recons or used items. he said
all new, and sometimes from the factory, maybe 1 in a few thousands
of productions, is faulty. but hey, all mine 4 are gone, and he wanna
talk about statistics? what crap, and what are the odds that all 4 are
faulty? and i am going to see the boss on monday to get things
rectified.

so, right now, i am looking for a set or just 2 front absorbers to
replace mine as my budget has already shot off the ceiling since i
had my car done yesterday, which selenia had to rectify since my
previous garage did not do it nicely. if i told you, you'd go ballooney
knowing that some things are missing from its original spot. crazy but
true though. and now i am riding on my faulty abs, and it seems like i
a riding on a pogo stick or something like that, bouncing like 36DD
on a magic carpet ride, since right now the novitec springs are
working like mad cow.

so, if there is any of you who wanna let go absorbers, please let me
know as i am desperate to change.

2 circumtances I guess,
1. Used absorber
2. While overhaul your engine, someone change your absorber with rosak one
since yours all new.. (thats why banyak bush & srews loosen during pasang
balik & were not properly fixed...did in rushing la when curi barang.

Mana ade 4 months boleh rosak...kalau masuk Camel trophy lain ler!

good news - I have a recently replaced ori set of Marea abs - all
four. bad news is the front right is not so good - oil damper drying
up, you'll hear squeaks when you move, and if you do long distance
trips, it will makan your tayar. rear abs can still work, butone side
has shown oil leak. You can have it gratis for temporary measure.

changed my absorbers 2 months ago (at Torino). after a week
use, the rear abs feels funny. the 'bounce' test confirmed that
the 2 new abs were dead & gone. Torino replaced them with
recently arrived stock. works fine now, although I feel that they
are a bit "softer" & more comfortable ride than the first set.

Your new absorbers could have been kept in storage for too long
and may have deteriorated, like my earlier "new" absorbers (which
lasted just over a week) . as to how long an absorber will last -
it depends on how & where you drive. :)

seems that you have some abs to let go of huh? what shall i do then?
since the most important ones are the fronts, and yours are kapoot
as well. haha, apa le nak jadi ni, aku pun tak tahu. but then, if you
wanna let go still, i am honored to receive them. thanks man, and as
for the style of driving, well, i am a little bit on the harsh side, but
believe you me, that no matter how hard my driving is, this is not
supposed to happen, like what chekai said, this is not camel trophy.
just a matter of 4 months and it went bad? i reckon for my style of
driving, it'll probably take like a year or so, really. i knew this because
this happened to my previous cars too, but 4 months is
unacceptable. now all i am asking from them is to be at least partly
responsible to this, but they just wanna act dumb. kalau tak bagi duit
aku balik pun tak apa sangat, at least do something to take care of
their loyal customer la. macam ni aku tak nak langsung pergi sana
lagi la babe. that is what so called friend.

chekai, teruk la babe, semalam je aku kena rm900, banyak yang
dibikinkan, including fixing of 5th gear leakage, which was supposed
to be done while the car was immobilized a few months back during
the top overhaul. banyak yang aku suruh diaorang tak buat sampai
aku pergi selenia buat. buang masa aku je, macam le aku tak bayar
service diaorang tu. and some more i always pay in cash, not credit
card. and this is what they repay me with. ask brian, he was
surprised to see lots of things missing and supposed to be but not
there, until was pointed out by the boys at selenia. truth to the matter
is, i went there just to install my novitec springs, but was superbly
surprised when they revealed those things. terkejut aku babe. even
the rear arm screw pun boleh tak ada, aku suspect masa diaorang
tukar rear abs aku, tak pasang balik. even while overhauled, i asked
them to change my engine mountings, they said they will, after so
many times of trying and forcing them, still the job was never done.
sampai aku ambik kereta tu balik pun tak buat jugak. now, the engine
is dropped and wirings are in between the engine and the body. itu le
yang buat nya short tu. bangkai betul la.

mine is gas operated, is there any chance of a place which can
recondition my abs? until i have enuff to swap with either koni, sachs
or even titan.

Sub, I m so sorry to what happened to ur absober. which workshop u went
to overhaul? it maybe something to do with that workshop.

hey man, jazzozz, did you get my email? did you try to call me? my
phone is gone la babe. totally need some overhaul la. hehe, anyway, i
don't know whether i should mention the name of the workshop here
or not, but if many request so, then i would. all i can say is that it's in
glenmarie, shah alam. and i have been very very busy fot he past 2
days. you see, my car is immobilized due to the abs problem and had
to stay at selenia for the whole day waiting for the fix up. because
normally when my car is being done, i never let it off my sight. and
then, therafter the garage works, i had to go still to the office to settle
my work. therefore, i am very very tired and worn out. jazzozz, there is
a slight delay over the quotation since my animator has not contacted
me yet. reckon he is still busy with the petrosains job which was
supposedly due yesterday. hmmm wonder what keeps him so long.
guess what babe, i am still at the office.

Get KONIs with Eibachs. You will enjoy it. Absorbers if you want OEM, go
to 911 Zentrum and get Sachs.

lobang if he can get branded absorbers at half-price as well.
btw, i did my exhaust last sat at AhPoa in ampang...feels so good, its
like i'm in my honeymoon wit my car all over again !

syed, i know koni is good, because sanjay is using it too and we are
all impressed by the performance he showed us last saturday. kereta
dia cun la babe. one of the bests there is, but gotta wait for mine to be
fully loaded too, hehe kidding la. anyway, if i were to get the koni, i
wouldn't couple it with eibach as i really love the rate of novitec
springs. but if there is someone who wants to let go of his hot bits, do
give me some rings. interested gila.
