2011 Hyundai Avante 1.6 with GDI engine Dual CVVT (138hp, 167Nm) will be launched in Korea on 2 August.
The interior looks very nice as well, the meter looks similar to Sonata one.

The dashboard really looks like a Monster face... looks the the bad robot in the Transformers...hehe

Notice that the air con has dual zone control. smile_thumbup.gif

Nice dashboard and center console design... smile_thumbup.gif

I doubt the local version will have SATNAV screen display...
Better looking than the present Sonata or Tucson...

For a 1.6L engine with 138HP/ 167Nm Torque is considered good because the present Avante for a 2.0L engine only gives 143HP/ 186Nm Torque (US version only get 138HP).
The lack of 19Nm torque won't bother much during cruising, but upon sudden acceleration, it does matter a quite bit.
With a 6-Speed Auto/ Manual gearbox with shiftronic is considered added value to the car.
Mmmm... Where did I put that Chevy Cruze brochure... smile_big.gif

Comparing references;

From Wikipedia;
The YF models were originally developed in 2005, with a development cost of â‚©450 billion (US$ 372 million*). Sales of the vehicle in South Korea began on 2 September 2009, before the production vehicle's South Korean launch...

So, Launch date;
South Korea = 2/9/2009
Malaysia = 25/6/2010
Lapse time = 9 months

The fifth generation Avante debuted at the 2010 Busan International Motor Show in April 2010. It features a 1.6L gasoline direct-injection engine, producing 103 kW (138 hp) and 167Nm (123 lb-ft) torque, mated to a new 6 speed automatic transmission. The design continues Hyundai's "fluidic sculpture" styling theme first seen in the 2011 Sonata. On-sale dates are expected to be late 2010 for South Korea, and mid-2011 as Elantra for the rest of the markets (as a 2012 model).

Hyundai Avante launch date;
Busan Auto Show, South Korea = 04/2010... On sale = 12/2010 (Late 2010)
Rest of the world = 06/2011 onwards
Roughly about 1 year from now...

Informer,
I hate u ...for putting such nice pictures!

A good designed car, is a car which is good looking 'as it is' basis. Look at this new Avante and even the Kia Forte. They don't need to add bodykit or change sports rim to make the car look stunning.

I recall Honda Jazz and Stream only look good when they are bodykitted or have sports rims added or even lowered. At stock, these cars are not good looking. Just my 2 sen

luckily my Avante has the Incus which makes it look sporty... at least next year when new Avante lands here, the appearance gap is not too big, haha...

look at the new Altis and previous Altis, since not much changes, the previous Altis still does not look that outdated...

Korean cars have big leap in design for every generation...

the 2016 Avante may look like a space ship smile_tongue.gif

Don't like the odometer design. Prefer the Sonata.

Otherwise everything else looks pretty good especially the exterior.
