True that conti cars need a bit more TLC as compared to the abuse Jap cars
can take from the lack of maintenance.

- Bravo2Zero

Bullseye. It's really a case of 'tolerance to abuse'.

If you are willing to spend more time tackling little problems here and there, bad
resale value, occasional not parts available, service so so if not bad, hey why not ?
It's a total different driving experience. I would still drive another conti car whenever
I can afford. Now only which can I afford now.

Aye, currently driving a bone stock Bravo GT. Had a relatively problem-free
ownership experience so far other than the minor niggles here and there.

100% yes!

I owned a 1997 Brava - bought new. In 2000 ditched it after spending over
20k on the car.

a. not tropicalized (gearbox, overheating, etc)
b. monkeys running the service authorized service center (2.5 years to
find out that my electrical problem is because of lack of earth!!!)
c. parts cost an arm, a leg, and a torso
d. trainee monkeys attending to the car (high turnover of the monkeys
leads to an ever decreasing service)

That's the worst of it.

Good things -

a. Top speed of 210!!! 1.6 auto with 3 onboard and fully loaded luggage.
b. Uniqueness (very rare on the road)

haha but wait till you hear it from my father, he's a loyal fiat owner
since 1974, the fiat 124 sepcial t. never been overhauled, never gave
any problems, and never failed him in any way. haha, even after he
bought himself a peugeot and a merc, he never forgets about that fiat.
very powerful and relaible car indeed.

Sub,

Your Bravo stock? Betui-ke? Don't think it'll stay that way for long, read in the
forums that you have a ton of mods lined up for your babe.

As with anything mechanical, they break. The frequency of the breakage and the
inabillity of the mechanics to fix these problem turns people off certain marques. As
far as I'm concerned, it's been happy motoring for me, but it's still sad to hear
problematic FIATs.

subs bravo has seen the worst of everything i reckon, and majority of the
problems have been fixed thanks to the guys at sunway.

i have yet to face any major problems with my bravo( touch wood!) since i
bought it together with sub some months back. my only annoying problem is
the auto fan that works sometimes. it's got something to do with the
wiring. if the temp goes up i have to pop the hood and kacau the wires to
get the fan running. it's not that frequent but it does happen at the most
critical time - during the jams in kl.
