Till Torino bucks up which will never happen. Nobody knows. People
are afraid Fiat these days. Torinon basically gave that reputation to
Fiats.

Imagine they only sold one Stilo. Poor after sale service and bad
service centres killed that passion to own Fiats.

Only if another company takes over Fiat distributorship here, Grande
Punto will be a reality. Saw a few in Germany-not bad looking.

Gurjit, most likely the ditributorship will not change hands at all.

Punto Grande as it is heard will be coming in by next year.....well
hopefully.

With the current bleak economic outlook any takers for a new car
franchise is like commiting harakiri.. they cannot sell in
big numbers.

Looking forward to buy the new Fiat Grande Punto. Saw it at Torino. I can
say I fall in love with that car in and out, the design makes sense and
when you drives it, ooo.... lovely.

Well I'm still deciding about either Punto Grande or Ford Focus. Torino
quote me RM98K. Kinda cheap-ish (in Bolehland)

There's a few thing that still scares me though,

-Selespeed
Is those thing still reliable? I know its fun when it works, but when it
doesn't, especially if it breaks down in the middle of highway...

-Electronic
Fix It Again Tony? If Alfa can't sort out their electrical issues, Fiat
hasn't got much hope...

-Rubbers, especially the lovely sunroof...
Are those climatise to local condition?

-Torino
Have to find servicing outside?

Any advise?

Try to answer this based on my 7 years owning a 2 Fiats!

1) Selespeed - dun know
2) Electronic - I had my Multipla side mirror motors replaces from month 3
of ownership and year 4 of ownership. Other - nothing happened
3) Rubbers, esp. sunroof - many sunroof rubbers provided in a car will
harden in time. You can read certain Korean brands have leakage, ie Citra,
Sorento... http://www.motortrad...?TOPIC_ID=15690
and http://www.motortrad...?TOPIC_ID=19689

Japanese cars with sunroof, i seldom see/hear about any problem.
4) log on to www.italiaauto.net for a list of workshops in Malaysia and
even Singapore!

5) Advise - For the money, I'll buy the Ford!

Didn't know that the Grande Punto comes with SELESPEED. Only know that it
comes with a 5 or 6 Speed Manual depend on model.
